Match day thread: Lincoln 22nd Nov 25

What was with all the hand bags after the final whistle? Pushing our Norris about, how dare they? Was anyone booked as a result?

My suspicion is they were peeved at his gamesmanship, of which probably the most notable example was tumbling over after a Lincoln player barely touched him, earning a free kick and eating up some time into the bargain.

That said, LCFC were hardly angels themselves from this perspective, one of their players got clipped in the ankle whilst the ball was in the Lincoln end of the pitch, then went down clutching his face…

I make it we have committed 276 fouls across all competitions this year. Fouls against us stand at 295.

We committed the most amount of fouls against Colchester (24) and committed the least against Gillingham (5).

We’ve been fouled the most by Bradford (23) and the least by Blackpool and Fulham (senior team) (6)

Good to see we stuck it to the scum.

I don’t know across the whole pyramid, but certainly for League 1, we’re still the only team not to have conceded from a corner.

Looks like they have been playing him as a “number 10”.

Dont forget that our last minute equaliser at Wimbledon that was disallowed, was later deemed a mistake by the officials. Frustrating that the record is blotted by a result from a game that we didn’t actually lose.

I am yet to see a team that is actually better than us.

Even when playing Doddsball, I dont think any team has caught my eye yet. There are certainly no Ipswich and Birminghams this season.

Does anyone else agree?

I don’t think it’s a matter for discourse. Forget about that particular post. I agree with you that a ‘like’ in that situation probably adds very little to the satisfaction that the recipient will already have been feeling after seeing his post described by a respected senior Gasroomer as post of the day.

What prompted my comment was the discovery that you appear to have an extremely strong aversion to the concept of showing, in the simplest way possible, your appreciation of individual opinions, explanations, humour etc.

You’ve received more ‘likes’ (1.9k) than pretty well anyone on this forum but have given only 12.

Wasn’t that a Harry Potter character .

I hate to tell you this, but those 12 would have been accidental

I don’t mean to be disrespectful but it’s just not my thing. I said right at the start of this iteration of the Gasroom we should do away with them. I also strongly suspect you are probably the only poster analysing them in such detail

I actually thought Lincoln were the best side we played (certainly in the second half).

Outside of them, there hasn’t been anyone who has ‘scared’ me. Burton should be interesting on the 13th as they seem to have found their feet. And obviously Cardiff will be an interesting game.

Dare I said it, this league is still for the taking and we’re now part of that. Although do enjoy Duffs methodical, one game at a time, winning breeds winning mentality.

One half at a time, even. What a guy.

I’ve just said something like this on another thread. Although worth noting that Ipswich didn’t finish as champions. They just finished like champions. Argyle finished top.

I agree that we certainly haven’t seen a side that I thought were a class above us. Our defeats with Dodds were all by single goals. I saw the games at Bradford and Stevenage and think that how we are playing now we would be very likely to win those games. Both those clubs are still top six and the return fixtures at Adams Park are ones I can ook forward to. The same applies to the Stockport away game that is to come on Good Friday.

I thought Bradford were good as well. I really hope we keep Woodrow and Bell in January, we haven’t just changed manager and started playing well, it’s also because those two have come in.

I thought Bradford were OK, but as you can see by their form, they’re not winning games.

We conceded two sloppy goals playing Dodds ball and Magnus missed an absolute sitter against them.

But the table doesn’t lie, and your point holds. Weirdly, I think Blackpool and Peterborough were good opponents, but they’re the opposite end of the table!

Peterborough were absolutely awful, we were just even worse.

The nail that sealed the coffin for Dodds though… Every cloud…

I thought Stockport were good, even taking into account our bizzare attempt to play without anyone at right back against one of the better wingers in the league. And I though the first 20 minutes of the Huddersfield game they looked very handy - though obviously less so when down to 10 and with Castledine off the pitch. Other than that, it’s a weak league this year from the ones we’ve seen, and we’re well placed to challenge near the top of it.
