And only five points behind this morning’s table toppers. We should also be above Wimbledon of course.

Contentious.

The next time we get a shit reffing decision go against us though, I will have to remember Lincoln’s equaliser being ruled out through Grimmer and Norris clattering into one another.

Heartbreak In Buckinghamshire As City Washed Out: Wycombe Wanderers 3-2 Imps | The Stacey West

The bit about Leahy’s challenge being potentially red card-worthy in the above report from Lincoln is hilarious though.

With the bit where the Lincoln player got booked for diving, I do agree that there did seem to be contact outside the area though. Hard to see at speed and from the ref’s angle however.

Glad to hear that you’re no longer “done” with Fred, like you said after the Fulham pen!

POTD for me

I thought there were sime quite contentious decisions that went against both sides. Leahy’s early booking was harsh to say the least, as he didn’t make any contact with the Lincoln player whatsoever. Couldn’t believe he booked their player for diving though, seemed a clear foul by Anders.

The disallowed goal looked correct though. Looked to me like the Lincoln player absolutely clattered Norris after he’d caught the ball. Didn’t seem to be any complaints from the Lincoln players on that one at least.

Ignore button. Sorts such ting.

Leahy himself had a tackle on him which was far worse , think the person writing that report was in the ground rather then watching it on TV as I was , seeing it from the way end only gave one perspective. Yes they deserved a draw but sometimes it doesn’t go your way ie Wimbledon disallowed goal they all even out at the end of the season.

Looked good in going 2-0 up, then like everyone has already said we delayed on the subs.

Oddly I thought we’d still win - that’s the best thing Duffsy has introduced. Before his time we knew going behind was game over.

I’d been looking forward to seeing Bradley back, but genuinely didn’t even realise Reach was playing.

Any chance of bringing the programme back

in fairness to Reach he did get the assist for the second LC goal.

This is why I said realise instead of notice.

Notice would have meant I thought the player in his position did nothing all game. Whereas I just didn’t recognise him like I instantly did Bradley.

Also helped that a bloke in a nearby block kept screaming “ooh Sonny Bradley” to the Terry Evans chant.

Though he also kept shouting “SIT DOWN” 30-40 times a game. Must be an in joke.

As you say Malone, I also thought we would still win even though they had come back and looked pretty lively.

First half I thought how are this lot top of table?

Second half they roasted us and deserved a draw at least. Good on Captain Jack.

I also said: ‘Bell has hardly had a touch’ a minute before he scored and ‘Mullins looks a bit off the pace’ just before he sent Bell through.

I am handing in my managerial resignation.

Fingers crossed everyone else loses their games in hand.

(I agree about the subs though…we needed fresh legs to take some pressure off the defence.)

In fairness to @glasshalfempty we would have been if the incumbent manager had not been dismissed.

All is looking rosy.

Quite a few teams above us have games in hand - and madly Stevenage have THREE games in hand on us, but they’ll have a pile up at some stage.

But not only are we touching distance from the playoffs on points, we’re not a million miles off top itself.

Thank goodness we only left it 7games in to make the switch!

Whilst I don’t dispute that at points in the past, Fred has had plenty of indifferent games for us, for whoever it was the other day complaining that he didn’t look arsed enough and fired up to be here, I would refer you to this:

Duff may have left the subs a bit late but going three at the back worked an absolute treat.

To be fair, Lincoln looked pretty tidy in the first half, but we kept them from troubling our goal much. In the second half they completely suffocated us and were half a yard quicker to everything. We showed great resilience to claw our way back in at the end after being under the cosh for so long. Duff possibly could have made changes sooner, though Fink’s introduction in particular really gave us some new impetus. He showed great tenacity and willingness to get stuck in, ultimately led to him winning the corner that Grimmer lashed home.

After some commanding wins over opponents that haven’t truly stretched us, this was definitely an acid test of Duff’s tenure at Wycombe, and it’s definitely shown things are on the right track.

Pulling away quite nicely now aren’t we?

One thing I certainly underestimated was the quality of the division this season. It’s complete and utter pony which gives us a real chance.

Nevertheless we began this year top of the table, but that still wasn’t enough for the manager to keep his job. Our Machiavellian overlords then bungled the appointment of his successor, having shown similar ineptitude in the transfer window. I think I’ll wait until February 3rd, 2026 before joining you and going all Pollyanna.

Superb 3 points.

Moylan’s dive to try and win a penalty was rightly spotted by the ref who was only 5 yards away and had clear sight of the dive which incidentally was outside the area anyhow.

The disallowed goal was a push which caused our two players to collide.

Delighted for Duff and the lads, great entertainment. The Lincoln lads were so gutted they were trying to pick fights after the game with Norris and Casey.

We should easily pass Lincoln by Xmas.
