relegation six pointer
six pinter maybe…
5th vs 3rd in the pass completion rankings today. It’s going to be a festival of CB sideways passes.
21st vs 20th in accurate crosses
19th vs 15th in tackles
24th vs 15th in clean sheets
22nd vs 17th in goals scored
I’m going to try to watch with fresh eyes today, unclouded by the previous six months of sewage. I wasn’t as impressed with last week’s performance as many on here, maybe thanks to preconceived judgement, but I thought we looked just marginally better than usual against a surprisingly bad Mansfield side.
Ahh …the joy of reading the battle cries and hope expressed on the Gasroom on match day ! maybe it should be used in the pre match rousing
If the Gasroom hasn’t veered from last week’s sheer relief to apoplectic rage by full-time today then it’s been a good day.
I’d like to think that last week was an epoch where Dodds told the squad he’s not messing around and he’ll only pick the players he trusts to deliver.
But this is football and Peterborough have to win sometime so…
4-4 nailed on
First time I’ve heard a week (or should that be day?) described as an epoch!
Gotta cling to the pockets of hope.
And another thing, can someone please run a gilet count in the away end? It’s surely prime gilet weather.
I stand corrected and apologise to @williwycombe It seems that epoch can also be used to describe a defining moment or memorable event.
I’ve grabbed me coat. Don’t like gilets. They seem pointless (apart perhaps if they have pockets (.
Great choice of matches to watch on Sky Sports+ at 12.30 today.
It will surely be back to doom and gloom if we don’t get something out of this, so here’s hoping we continue where we left off last week.
Peterborough must surely regard it as a crucial opportunity to banish their dreadful start.
This feels a little bit like a pivotal game for our short to medium future.
IF we approach the game this week with the flexibility and adaptability we showed last week I think there is a reasonable chance that a corner has actually been turned.
IF we revert to the ponderous Plan A we had been playing mostly up until last week I just see us carrying on until we fall off the edge of the cliff into League 2.
For that reason I think how we play is more important today than the result.
Regardless, I’m really looking forward to the game* this afternoon.
*And of course taking advantage of the odd excellent pub that Peterborough has within easy walking distance
Same starting 11 as last week please. Another game to get some fitness into the 3 new loanees who I think will be pivotal in how we play moving forward.
Love a gilet, it’s like a hug from a coat.
Wish I was there today. Enjoy the game everyone who has travelled. Come back with 3 points!
Gilet, the best a man…in the rain can get?
Me and Wendo have already got 2 drafts written dependent on how the game goes
1 - Dodge out - Rice out - woe is us
2 - always told you bet wetters all was fine and he’s not even had 1 game in 9 months with his first choice 11 available et
