Match Day Thread: Plymouth 29th Dec 25

I’m still haunted by the Bristol Rovers fella i worked with laughing in my face that we’d gone mad to buy him.

Taylor really has been a bit of a donkey since arriving. Terrible with the ball at his feet and regularly bullied off the ball during headers and challenges

Its still worrying that our wide forwards look toothless. The early success was on them, but now not really cutting in or making much threat. And, im not sure about Junior at all.

Hard as it is to believe, and though his usernames have been legion ( though his opinions always the same), I think dr congo said it was not Richie.

No no no - i cannot’s believe that!

There cannot be 2 imbeciles!

(approval needed from Chris if that’s an acceptable word - change to “silly billies” if not)

Unfortunately much more of the Luke Oliver than the Sonny Bradley, in terms of massively tall fellas.

Only saw the last 20 mins- not much quality on show (zilch actually). I thought we looked awful.

Plymouth deserved to score.

After Luton I thought Norris would be benched- collided with our own player and fell over for tonight’s goal.

I noticed Anders look up for a pass back near the end, then turn and punt it out of play. The defenders have lost confidence in the keeper.

Now, I dont think MVS is the full answer, but hes got potential and worth another go.

Just. Not. Good. Enough

Have lost all ability to control the ball, pass the ball and that’s without the fact that some players simply are just not good enough.

I know the drum needs re-skinning now because it’s been smashed so much but we know where this begins or rather who it begins with.

Duff has just said Mullins should be fine but Henderson is a hamstring. Ref claimed he ‘wasn’t injured’ :person_shrugging:

One of the biggest squads we have ever had and for me the weakest for a long time.

Just mute him cat - not worth the stress. For every ‘view hidden reply’ I can guess exactly what he’ll be saying. A stuck record with serious issues.

Money doesn’t guarantee you success.

It can sure help, but a lot depends on who it is spent by and how/on what !

For the first 25 minutes or so I thought we looked good but once Junior came on we just seemed to lose any attacking threat and the balance of the team seemed wrong.

The further loss of Henderson also lost any control we had and after that it was a case of hoping that Plymouth were as useless as they had appeared (and they almost were). (As an aside I wasn’t sure of the wisdom of replacing Henderson a few minutes before half time as it gave us only one opportunity - I think - to make substitutes second half).

Interestingly if the ref had spotted the handball before the corner we would all be praising Duff for having the guts to stick with Norris. (One of Shev’s sliding door moments?).

Feel sorry for the fans travelling all the way back. It’s going to be a long long journey.

playing that defensive when fans have travelled hundreds of miles is unacceptable, Duffball is shit

There’s a phrase I’ve never heard before and I consider myself somewhat of an expert on profanity. I assume it’s a variant of soggy biscuit, the game much beloved by Public School types?

Every day is a school day on the Gasroom.

Oh and don’t Google soggy biscuit on your work computer folks or you’ll have a very awkward conversation with HR come January.

On Sky the ‘commentator’ said that the referee had ordered Casey to take off the strapping on his leg, which I didn’t know they could. He was a bigger clown than our GK.

His actions when the Plymouth players were lifting Henderson up SHOULD mean he never referees a game of professional football again.
