I would like to see Barry Richardson start tonight, he’s got a great record there.
COME ON WYCOMBE!
I hope all those that have made the journey down there have made it safely!
Even at the ripe old age of 56, he surely can’t be much worse than Norris was against Luton.
The ref for tonight Carl Brooks has sent off 10 players in 20 games he’s been in charge this season which is bloody ridiculous it could be carnage.
I’d start Stuart Moore tonight.
I’d start Patrick Moore if he could keep a clean sheet tonight.
Van Sas for me.
Was tempted to go tonight, but still massively cheesed off by Boxing Day. Trip to vipienne for me. Big reaction needed from all tonight.
I’ve been thinking for a while that Duff is deliberately not playing a number of players as he deems them not good enough, which for the most part is true. Also, to show how poor our depth is, in the hope we sign others in January.
It was strange to have no Fink / McNeilly on the bench with Woodrow out. Perhaps Duff has decided if they’re not good enough, they’re not playing at all.
Be interesting to see what happens over the coming weeks and also with four games in 10 days whether he keeps not picking some of these players. He may end up having no choice, as our best 12/13 players cannot keep playing two games a week forever.
Our purple patch under Duff came with Leahy playing pre-dominantly in the 6 role and Henderson as the 8. I noticed since Henderson has come back from injury they have switched roles. This has resulted in Henderson always receiving the ball in a deep position, where he is very good but I think overall it makes us worse going forwards.
I’d like to see Henderson much further up the pitch where he can hurt teams more. Some of his passes when we counter attack quickly were what had Bell and Fred on fire during October and November.
COYB!
If Fink, McNeilly, Tilley, Back, etc have been told they will leave in January or even have deals lined up, not sure how motivated they would be to perform for a club that doesn’t want them. But for me you need to consider alternative options from your current squad to plug those gaps for next 2/3 games.
Not sure what to expect this evening, a reaction to Boxing Day or more of the same…?
You’d like to hope there’s a reaction, but anything’s possible with this current lot of players, both good and bad. I do think it’s quite amusing that this is the 2nd time this month Wycombe have immediately followed up a 4-0 defeat away from home with a game against Plymouth ![]()
I want to have a reason to come to the game and bring my daughter on New Years Day - if it’s another ‘performance’ like the one against Plymouth at home, I don’t think I have that reason.
We could do with Plymouth having a ridiculously early red again tonight.
The division is so tight, that almost half way through the season we’re in 10th, yet just 4 points off the relegation zone.
It wouldn’t have taken much of a drop off at home for us to be right amongst it.
Positives:
Abbott is back, that is amazing
Forwards return
negative:
Why Norris….
Lowry and Westergaard both dropped from squad! But Abbott back, great news. Fink also back on the bench ready to come on and score a hat-trick to scupper his move away…
Oh and Allen dropped from the squad too?!
