The original Pilgrims in 1620 had a pretty rough time on their 66-day journey to Cape Cod, and half of the 102 passengers on the Mayflower were wiped out by the harsh winter that followed their arrival.
Not wishing any serious harm to today’s visitors, but let’s send them home suitably chastened after a dominant Chairboys victory.
Fascinating to see the team today. I’d guess we could be unchanged from last week. You would suspect that Woodrow might have come in if he’d had more training. Also intrigued to see if Allen is used today on the strength of Tuesday’s performance.
Dunno how Duff is going to manage the CB situation. Cook seems to be the de facto first choice and C.Taylor has come in whilst Anders and Casey get up to speed. He’s been solid if unspectacular.
Does he drop Taylor for one of the others if fit, or go rogue and reintroduce Anders and Casey as a pairing, given they’re the best twosome we’ve seen under MD (so far).
Team news will be interesting so will news of incomings and outgoings.
Hes made enough noise about Anders and Casey not quite being fit, so will use that to stay with the original pairing.
Personally I would try and get Big Dan and Anders in as first choice, as think its the best pairing, especially if playing out from the back and through midfield.
Rest will depend on Woodrow starting over Hendo. Which is probably correct as Hendo isnt a 10. But its hard to not have him in as he is the best player with ball at feet.
I think he can work in a 433, but we will need Anders and Dan and not be deep, like last weekend.
I think Connor Taylor has been more than ‘solid’. I’m not at all sure what that word implies but, to me, it always sounds borderline derogatory. He’s better than that. He’s calmness personified and most of his forward passes reach the intended recipient.
If, and it’s a capital IF, we have one of those games where we force a good few corners and free kicks into the opposition box he will be there in the thick of it with assists and, hopefully, adding another goal to his tally. (I think it might be a tally of one!)
Meanwhile I must tune in to SkySports + to resume the Skura watch!
I have no issues with him. You dont play the amount he has without being a good player. But, he still looks uncomfortable on the ball, especially if playing out, he left at least one short when trying to play. My issue is he then doesn’t get it in to the midfielders early enough, meaning they cone to deep to get the ball, and then the CF is isolated. It happened last weekend too often.
