I’m going for a prostate check on Thursday morning, hopefully the doctor doesn’t do any wiggling or figgling
The fans having a go at Norris are. I wonder which one of them had the brain cell today.
You give them too much credit - they have no brain cell.
Obviously the fan experience in different areas of the ground is very different, everyone around me is a. Supportive of the team b. Retired.
Main stand? Or posh seats in the middle of Frank Adams?
Wendoverman favours Aston Villa.
Surely there is something inside every Wycombe fan that has views that are in between the two extremes of world beater and the complete character assassination quoted above.
I am getting really depressed by the horrible things said and written about our players. Anyone who thinks this type of abuse will improve a players performance has nothing to add this club.
I’ve deleted my earlier post now. I was only commenting on the player’s performance and why, in my view, he’s not currently in the matchday 18 in response to someone saying Fink should be included. It wasn’t meant as a dig for the sake of it.
I’m definitely not one of those people singing sarcastic songs about Norris — just giving an honest opinion on the football.
Lets get the thread back on form. January recruitment is working… although Lowe seems better from the bench then starting atmo.
Vidi, Fred and Junior/Cauley playing with swagger. Only concern is at back short on numbers right now. Playoffs very likely… we hold our own against Stockport/Bradford… this season maybe one to remember.
This must be a record low number of posts for a league match, which might be expected for a decent, if not particularly spectacular performance professionally putting away the poor opposition in front of us.
There can’t have been many morons doing the sarcastic chanting at Norris, though they were obviously heard. They got plenty of pelters from the people I was stood around, who started up his erstwhile “Super Will Norris in goal” chant to their credit. Though the damage has clearly been done, hopefully the idiots involved have learned their lesson. The rest of the crowd need to be more proactive calling it out or drowning it out with more positive songs.
I think some people are mistaking Will Norris’s body language for not caring. The reality might simply be that he expresses himself differently to how some fans expect.
If you look at the numbers, his minutes-per-clean-sheet ratio actually has him in the top three at the moment, particularly when you consider he had very little game time before replacing Mikki van Sas as the number one.
Interestingly, van Sas didn’t receive the same level of character assassination – and, to be clear, no player should. Constructive criticism is part of football, but questioning a player’s attitude based on body language alone feels unfair.
Unfortunately, the atmosphere on the terrace does seem to have shifted a bit, with a lot of the singing now driven by teenagers, and that can sometimes tip over into negativity rather than support.
I couldn’t believe I was hearing the “he’s made a save” stuff. The second time, I heard plenty of “shut the fuck up you morons” in response and the chants didn’t continue after that…
Now THAT is truly offensive…
I assumed something like that had happened as it pretty much stopped but I bet Norris was happier in front of the away fans than ours. I also bet Van Sas is almost happy not to be playing.
Block N in the Frank Adams the N stands for Nursing Home ![]()
I see dead people.
I stand to the left of goal as you look towards the away end. The Norris chants seemed to be coming from well over to the right. Maybe the group who are supposed to improve the atmosphere with songs and chants around the drummer. Morons!!!
I can sort of understand ‘ fans’ sharing their frustrations about Norris on Facebook, fans forums etc but I do not understand why they think it’s helpful or acceptable doing on match days. I’m certain I would head down the tunnel immediately after the match if I’d coped a torrent of abuse. Surely it’s important to get behind the players and that means ALL the players. Good that Grimmer and Duff called it out. On a separate note, I wonder if Ainsworth is feeling some heat. Five defeats on the trot and tumbling down the league.
As a rule of thumb, when people claim that a player or players “don’t care” it’s a pretty strong indication that they know nothing about football
Duff still not starting Morley and Henderson in the same team I notice (ok, he’s done it once)
Wasn’t there yesterday, but great to see Jack’s comments on Will Norris.
The highlights were a good watch!!!
Big Easter weekend of football coming up.
