The Leahy punt is so frustrating. He hasn’t got the technical ability to shield the ball, wait for that pass and keep possession.
Lowry is an enigma. Sometimes he looks utter genius. Other times he looks like a complete fool. He either doesn’t pass it at all, or he passes it way too late because he wants to hog the ball
Lowry is very good going forward but defensively he is a liability. Makes me wonder whether we are using him in the right way.
For all the talk of needing a Morley type player to make us tick, we absolutely need Scowen to make us less brittle.
Was chatting with a Swans fan at a wedding today.
Playing pretty football won’t get you out of L1, but it’ll keep you in Championship.
Still. Could be worse.
I could be Kone at QPR.
We’re looking very likely to end the day bottom of the league. What signs are people seeing that we’re going to start beating better teams than these any time soon?
Here’s hoping that the players just completely ignore any and all instructions from Dodds and the iPad lads in the second half. That’s our best chance of getting a result.
Our goal didn’t come from wonderful passing play built out the back. Like most goals under Dodds, they get scored in spite of the tactics rather than because of them.
Totally under the kosh for the last 10+ minutes of that half, and prior to that barely created anything with Reading chasing the game at 1 down.
Reading are a side coming out the other end of serious turmoil. They’ve also had huge turnover of staff and players. They’re also in crap form. If we’re getting zero points across Exeter and Reading at home, we’re unlikely to get them anywhere else.
The management and tactics is utter guff. If ML or Eduard are reading this - please do the humane thing and put Dodds, the players and the fans out of collective misery.
oh it’ll get us out of league one alright…..
Yeah - wrong direction though.
Soft goals are absolutely killing us.
Hopefully the players learn fast. They’re being taught the same lesson every week so it really should sink in soon.
Is “we played really well for x minutes” quickly becoming the new “In 1991 nobody died”
They’ve scored from a hopeful Wing cross into a fantastic header. Then we can blame poor passing which lets Wing belt it in.
We weren’t good enough with the ball, but cant control Wing deciding he fancies it today.
Also Reading have less xG than us, so they dont deserve to be 3 or 4 up
In stats we’ve not managed two goals in a game since Bolton and two goals prior to stoppage time since Burton at home in March.
Time to change those stats now!
Well, that’ll keep us off the bottom of the league.
That’s not how xG works.
Even the people defending Dodds on the stats have nothing to go on today.
They’ve played more passes than us, they’ve completed more passes than us, they’ve as a result had more possession than us. They’ve had more shots, more corners and won more second balls.
Hilariously we apparently have a better xG though - an absolutely barnstorming 0.4
Allen and CBM on
martin jol was once sacked at halftime in a uefa cup match.
just saying.
Doddsy got it wrong again?
Obviously I’m not at the game but does the introduction of another defender at 2-1 down seem a weird move to anyone that’s there?
