Match Day Thread: Reading (A) 14th Feb 2026

BRB. Off to the bookies for a Wing hat trick.

Duff is canny enough to know Wing is their outlet and likes to get up for these games. The poor away record, poor record in RG2 and the 12.30 ko are psychological hurdles we need to overcome if ‘this is it’. We have the tools now. Let’s smash this lot.

Reading fans as old as me, view our rivals as Aldershot, (though that has faded somewhat over recent decades) Poxfo*d, (since some idiots voted them into the League) and Swinesden. Wycome, I would say are viewed as rivals by the younger fans. * Are also viewed by some younger fans, judging by the arrests when we play them.

Who else is looking forward to the prospect of the last three teams mentioned and Reading being in the same Division next season? Unless one of us wins the play –offs! We have never won a play-off final, so it could be you.

Harris and Leahy starting is a joke ….massive boost for Reading

Strong team, COYB!

Not sure who you’d have in his place mind. A player thats had 20 game minutes in his legs in about the last year, or one of Mullins or Hendo, one of who would be out of position or the other that would out of position AND on his way back from injury?

Edit: had a bit of a mare. Didn’t see Junior in there so expect Harris to be in the centre rather than wide (as he has played as well). But still Mullins is still learning himself and Hendo is coming back from injury.

Plus, I thought Harris was growing in the last game anyway,

Still Hate that phrase (Sorry).

But love you’re still around. Hope all is well with the Couhigs.

Strong set of starters and finishers. Come on you Blues!

To be completely honest, I think the haters are one of the reasons I love it so much.

This is the denouement. Time to discover the answer to the question “are we contenders, or just pretenders?”

Fair enough. I kinda respect that.

There isn’t any valid reason why I hate the phrase either tbh. I think its because its almost the complete opposite of what I am used to, Grammatically. I.E. as I have grown up, its always “up the wanderers” rather that Wycombe.

Which makes less sense, as theres several Wanderers and one Wyc.

Why not both?

Don’t Get me Wrong, we are contenders.

I’m a hater - Come on You Blues is eminently chantable and has been for many decades; up the Wyc certainly isn’t.

Didn’t stop me suggesting that the Official Wycombe Wanderers Supporters Association should make you an honorary life member though, did it?!
