Just watching some of the defensive passing mistakes and there’s no energy or movement ahead of the back three that there’s no out.
Fred and Harvie are too far forward so there’s no wide pass to break the press and this then means the midfielders are marked tightly.
If you play with wing backs, those wingbacks need to be the fittest and most athletic players in the squad. And I don’t think Fred or Harvie are showing that they are

If we take off Casey, we will like move Taylor left and thats seems like they don’t want.
Midfield cant really get the ball, and not sure Woodrow is offering much.

Wildsmith’s distribution is ropey - he keeps kicking the ball out of play.
This looks to me like a team crying out for a new head coach to organise them effectively, motivate them on the touchline and use their experience to shake things up. Tom Hounsell has a big 45 mins ahead of him – I always thought he’d get to the international window but no longer. Still sticking to that.

Big team talk needed from TH. We looked completely inept first half, some real off days out there. Extremely fortunate to be level although Reading’s best chances have come from Casey errors rather than anything they’ve created.

They have literally created nothing for all their position in our territory. Chances came from our defenders misplaced passes.
Get Casey off and Morley on.
And change this rancid three centre backs nonsense. They just end up 5 yards apart in possession and playing unnecessary balls to each other inevitably getting into a pickle every so often.
It’s either take him off or he’ll get sent off.
Reading are already (and perhaps rightly) in the ear of the ref to do just that already.

Including the mistakes from Dan ‘comfortable’ Casey!
Casey, Harvie and Boyd-Munce have been screaming at each other several times. Sums up the match for me so far.
If we play like that and don’t concede. Doing better than we did Vs Stockport. Shape not right Vs 4231 against a side playing away at us. Makes sense away from home…
At least he’s not on a booking, but take your point. Other shout is put Harvie at left of the 3, CBM as left wing back and Morley into the centre of midfield to give a bit of control.
I think he should be subbed, im just worried that hes probably best bet in that position.
Your point on wing backs being so far forward is interesting, and they arent giving an out ball for the defence. Or creating space to run into.
I’d put Parker on for Casey, then move Fred to the left to support Harvey. Means a lopsided 442 but surely better than persevering with a system that is conspicuously not working for us.

Where to start with that? My main feeling is, at home, would we look as lost as we do with Duff in charge? For me, that’s a no. Worst home performance of the season by some distance (so far). We look absolutely rudderless and if that doesn’t let the powers that be understand we need a real manager, nothing will.
Switching Taylor and Casey was odd and Casey has had a nightmare. Assuming we’re not going to change to a 4, Grimmer on for Casey and Taylor move across.
Aaron Moley is our best midfielder by some distance. He should be first on the teamsheet and fit others around him. He makes us tick with the ball. It baffles me why he’s on the bench. Morley for Henderson, Morley sitting. Scowen and CBM as 8’s.

Wareham is quality. And new keeper looks good.
