You reckon he doesn’t revert Allen back into defence and move Jack back right, even if Huggins was fit? I think he would have. Part of the reason he played Harris, he would have gone for the defensive mindset.
Not, just this game though, its obviously sonething he hasn’t been able to quite sort out. But, i think he is a naturally cautious manager, and it probably doesn’t help.
Still think hes had a good season though.

The fear is he’s signed up for next season and on big wad. Might not be easy to move on.
Hopefully he’s out of contract this summer though.
If I was Norris I would not want to be in goal for us next season. Has Van Sas played for Duff yet?

Take pur defensive frailties out of the equation and it’s been a decent performance. We’ve got at Stockport and had some good chances. Can’t afford yo let in goals like the 1st though against quality opposition. No point blaming individuals, when 3 or 4 players have made errors.
2nd goal is a great crossand a great finish, but not sure what Allen is doing. He’s ina good position, then wanders off and leaves the guy unmarked.
Yes we’re attacking well and could easily get a goal or 2, but Stockport looks real threat against our weakened defence. Could get ugly with us needing to attack

Another curates egg of a half.
We looked decent between the 2 boxes, but in their we lacked ideas/cutting edge & overhit every corner we had from the right; in defence we just lack belief & are looking to pass the responsibility to deal with things to someone else too much of the time.
Sadly even without the goals we do not look like a play-off/Championship side, though there is the nucleus of a good side in there.

Allen never quite feels right at centre back in a back 4 to me.
It feels like his strengths are mostly attacking and playing there absolutely erodes them.
He’s not got the aerial strength and he can’t influence the game much with his passing.
He popped up early season on the left wing at times and I genuinely wonder if he’d be more effective there than centre back.

Unfortunately, I think we’ll never see the best of Allen in a Wycombe shirt. He’s clearly built to be left of a 3, and scored a bunch of his goals for Walsall by being their free kick and penalty taker, neither of which he’s getting a sniff at here.

He feels like a stats buy rather than any sort of consideration of how we’d use him.
But then we bought a tonne of attacking mids in almost assuming one or 2 wold have to succeed by sheer laws of averages.
