Must win game

Where’s the next goal coming from, we don’t look like we’ll score again this season?

Bloody hell…‘Wycombe away’ on the Stockport forum is already on it’s 18th page. They must be very excited.

Possibly the worst away day in the Football League.

County and Wycombe to play out a sedate draw to secure 3rd and 4th places.

Stockport have won just two of their last 30 away Football League games in the final match of a campaign since 1958 (D7 L21).

I’m still of the opinion it’s a must rest all your players and a doesn’t matter if you win game.

This seems as good a place as any to say Happy 11th Anniversary of Torquay away!

Couhig appears to have bought Reading so a playoff final against them MUST happen.

No thank you. Reading will surely beat us.

I wonder if we can do one of those first half goal things. Probably a bit optimistic…

A convincing win please.

Momentum isn’t gained by playing the same tired plodders over and over. Rest the tired, take the handbrake off, give opportunities to the alienated. Try two or three different formations, hope something clicks and at least don’t meekly give potential play off rivals the advantage of seeing what we are like and contributing to our fatigue and injuries.
4 at the back, Berry, Lowry, both Danes, Low, Rav etc etc, 45 mins for people near fitness, don’t think he will but think he probably should.

There’s fitness and match fitness. Some of these ‘reserves’ will be blowing out of their arses if you start them.

It’s going to be no changes from the last game resulting in a forum meltdown before a ball has been kicked.

I think I might last longer than some of those suggested starters @Midlander

and I’d be knackered even before finishing the warm-up.

Although I took am hoping to see changes to the formation and starting players. Maybe the entertainment levels as well.

This is a really important match for two reasons:

  1. We can’t go into the playoffs having lost to all the other playoff teams in recent weeks - we need a confidence booster
  2. I really think we have to avoid having to play Charlton over two legs. If we can get them in a final, anything is possible in a one-off game under the arch, but having seem them tear us to pieces a couple of weekends ago, I can’t see how we can get past them over two games

For that reason, hoping we play a strong team; Kone gets a bit of confidence back after this week’s achievements; and heaven forbid we score an early ish goal and we go on to win 2-0 :crossed_fingers:

I agree that Charlton could be a painful experience over two legs. Whatever we think of the Welsh tit in charge he does have an ability to stir passion into the willing unlike our passion-free nervous strutting gaffer.
I would love to take on Reading. I honestly don’t think they are that good aside from Wing who has become their talisman. I do think their manager should be up there as one of the best this season though.
Kone will score today. He’s had a morale boosting week and I think he’ll be buzzing for a goal.

Explained quite nicely by Adam Clift on Twitter…

Game seems to be on Sky Sports Plus btw, pretty sure that’s breaking their own rules and the 3pm blackout but will take it for free today. Have to wonder if it the blackout goes completely next season.

Also, Kone should be on holiday on a beach somewhere, not in the squad today.
