Match Day Thread : Stockport

A lot of pressure on Simons to hold that midfield together, a chance for Lowry to impress though, looks like tinkering rather than big change ahead of next week. Can’t imagine anyone really expected much more.

Tough gig for Lowry covering two positions.

Whoops. Leahy!

Total football from Lowry there…

Just pipped you !

Six at the back, Udoh in his own personal space.

He is our backup left back/wb. He persists because thats our option.

Reach is not a full back.

Reach isnt a left back.

I hope Lowry is allowed to play only one position. Feels harsh on him to play left back and attacking centre mid.

We did that one a while ago.

Kone rested so Dudds can experiment…with 10 at the back

Neither is Leahy. They’ve both covered there in their careers though.

GMAC and Fred both desperately seem like they need a rest, so not sure why we haven’t taken the opportunity to rotate the wingers.

Not as if we don’t have Sads and Berry waiting

Xavier Simons should be on cloud nine.
Not so, Blooms.

Mild celebrations and weirdness by a vocal minority on the terrace post Luton result. Strange old Shed End these days.

Yeah, no obvious ball winner means he’s managed to hit the holy grail of an ultra negative formation that will also give up complete control of the midfield. Just weird.

Co-commentator at Fratton Park has the most horrendous Dublin accent.

No-win situation, metaphorically. If we win, it’s “where was this performance the last two weeks?”

For a minute I hoped Dodds was going to experiment with that little known “attack the other goal” strategy, but that would just have been wacky.

He is what he is unfortunately, and it’s not going to change
