If anyone has been considering following the women’s team more closely, but didn’t know where to start, @StevePeart ‘s guide is the place. It’s absolutely fantastic, much appreciated!

This is a great idea. Nice work.

Last season we got off to a bad start, a 3-0 home defeat to Portchester, and the slow start continued with just five points from the first four games. We cannot afford to do that again, even if we don’t have an “Ascot” in this division. With twelve former Chairgirls in the Rams’ squad, I think this is going to be a very competitive game and a good one to watch. Local derbies are rare for us, we have played cup games against Chesham and Penn in recent years, but I think the last league derby games were against Chesham United in 2015-16. I am not aware that we have ever played Beaconsfield in a competitive match.

I have asked both clubs what the entry prices are, and whether card or cash. I will let you know if I get an answer! If you have young children, there is space there for them to run around. If you are coming north from the A40/M40, remember that to get to the ground, you have to turn left into the Services, U-turn round the roundabout, turn right at the lights then then immediate left. I hope to see some of you there. We may have to pin our hopes on the Chairgirls this season!

From reading the preview it seems like about one third of the players in the division used to play for us!

Response from Beaconsfield Town: “£5 entry, card please and food will be available.”

Adults - £5
Concessions - £3
Children U16 - Free

Ashleigh Harte has joined the Rams.

1’, BT 0-1 WW, Jordanne Hoesli-Atkins shot, keeper slipped and it rolled in after 32 seconds.

12’, BT 0-2 WW, Jess Watkins shot from a very acute angle, high into the net.

31’, BT 1-2 WW, penalty, harshly awarded for a challenge, player seemed to slip over. That resulted from a good period of pressure for the Rams, when Lu Delves was first tested with a good save.

41’, BT 1-3 WW, Chloe Melton with a shot from edge of the area, under the crossbar.

HT 1-3. Apart from just before and after the penalty, the Chairgirls have controlled the game with a lot of touches in the box, and several good chances. The Rams are struggling with runs down the wing by Potter and Watkins, but the crosses are not quite on the money.

58’, BT 1-4 WW, Melton shot from 15 yards.

71’, BT 1-5, WW, pass from Watkins for Melton to slot home, for her hat-trick.

85’, BT 1-6 WW, through ball to Potter, one on one with the keeper to coolly slot home.

90’, BT 1-7 WW, Anisha Hill shot close in.

FT Beaconsfield Town 1-7 Wycombe Wanderers.

It was an even game for ten minutes after the break but Beaconsfield never really threatened to score. The Chairgirls finishing was top notch, and could have two or three more. Some very good individual performances, I thought Jordanne played particularly well, tidying up in midfield and starting attacks. Beaconsfield are not a bad side, they have some good players, I think they will hold their own in the league.

Wow what an opener

Ouch.

WWW had speed to burn up front and they continually exploited Beaconsfield’s high defensive line.

What a start to the season

Really good game. Away at Fleet on the 6th next if anyone has no other plans.

Agree. Jordanne and Emma Delves commanded that midfield space with Emma going into central defence part way through the second half showing her versatility

My friend Cat has joined the women’s team, I think she played today. Her experience is a completely different level to any current or previous player for the team. Some good young players too, so they are definitely on the up this season.

Cat had a very good game in defence, as did all the newcomers. She is going to be one of the leaders in the team. @Anubisblue is right to single out Emma Delves, the coaches made her the POTM. One of the talking points was playing Kayla Potter on the wing, to accommodate Chloe Melton as the central striker. Putting your 34 goal central striker out wide is a bold move. Tricky, speedy winger Eman Kassem was missing from the squad yesterday, so it will be interesting to see how four, with Jess Watkins, goes into three when she is available. Another talking point was the unused finisher Danielle Puddefoot, one of the most influential players last season. There is more competition for places this season, very good players will be on the bench.

Now that the Chairgirls use the term ‘finisher’ for ‘substitute’, when a player is replaced, is the correct term ‘finishered’ instead of ‘substituted’? I don’t think ‘finished’ is right!
