Bournemouth Sports are a men’s and women’s club, the women’s section was founded in 2013 and they run a reserve side in tier 7 Hampshire County League Division 1. Ricky Barton has been the manager since the start.
After winning the Southern Region Premier in 2023-24, they have had two finishes of tenth place in this division, both times with 20 points. Last season they scored 25 goals and conceded 52. They lost 1-0 at Keynsham Town in the FA Cup First Round and lost all three of their League Cup group games.
This season they beat Keynsham Town 2-1 at home on the opening day, lost 1-0 at Gwalia United last Sunday, and lost 4-3 at home to Southampton U21 in the League Cup on Wednesday. Molly Gladwell scored the two league goals, Chloe Sheffield (2) and Emma Whall were on target on Wednesday.
In their Southern Region Premier championship winning season, we lost 3-1 away to them and beat them 2-1 at home. We also lost 1-0 away in the league Cup. The season before we lost both league games, 1-0 and 3-0, but beat them 1-0 in the League Cup. Only Bobby Lynch and Emma Kern for the Chairgirls, and Rosie Eden and Liane Folkenstern for Bournemouth, remain from those games.
They play at Bournemouth University’s large sports complex, which has 22 football pitches, seven of them full-sized grass pitches. It is situated next to Bournemouth Airport, eight miles outside of town. The weather forecast is mostly dry but there could be a downpour during the game.

As a FYI to those watching, there is quite a lag (approx 60s to 90s) from us starting the clock in Veo to it being pushed live to YouTube so we have to take a bit of a guess at what the time actually is!

Good opening quarter by us, dangerous runs down the left wing by Jess, but BS came into it second quarter, moved higher up the pitch, pressed our goal kicks and got some turnovers, and got their reward from a dead ball. Nothing down the right wing as yet for us.
