Two wins, two clean sheets. Thats how you start a season. Well done W3!
A really strong performance today, lots of good passing movements down the middle and the wings, we closed them down, looked fitter than them who didn’t trouble Axelle all afternoon. We should have scored more but away wins are precious.
Match stats, attendance was 65. Not sure who Ailish replaced.
Edit - Axelle was the keeper, not Laura! These stats are updated in real time, no delay, I wonder who is doing that and how.
Today’s results.
Bridgwater United 1-0 Maidenhead United
Gwalia United 1-0 Bournemouth Sports
Keynsham Town 0-2 Wycombe Wanderers
Marine Academy Plymouth 1-3 Bristol Rovers
Moneyfields 5-0 Abingdon United
Torquay United 6-0 Ascot United
Looks like it will be a long season for Ascot after being on -12 goal difference after two games.
The WNL haven’t added Bridgwater’s win to the table yet, but we are one of four teams with maximum points, the others being Moneyfields, Gwalia and Bridgwater, which is very good company.
Champions by Christmas
Fantastic start to the season!
On another note, disappointed to see that u21s teams from the big clubs are playing in the Women’s FA Cup. Does anyone know if this is a new thing or if it has always been the case?
Ignore me it’s late, it’s the WNL Cup not the WFA Cup.
I think it’s a new thing this season, i remembering reading clubs were very upset about it.
The FA are proposing to introduce four WSL Academy teams to tier 3 from next season but 52 of the 72 National League teams have signed a letter opposing this.
Maidenhead United are one of the teams opposing it and issued a statement.
Ascot United are another known to oppose it. The list of 52 has not been revealed, I don’t know what our stance is.
Professional Game Academy sides were introduced into the FAWNL Cup last season.
