With the next three league games against bottom half sides, nine points will be the Chairgirls’ target, to keep the pressure up on the the Flyers, Southampton and Portchester.
After winning promotion, Fleet Town had an unsteady start this season. A 4-2 opening day home defeat to Southampton Women was not such a bad result, the teams were two levels apart last season. That was followed by a humbling 11-1 home loss to the the Chairgirls, 6-0 at half-time, with Hennessy, Potter (4), Hill (2), Watkins and Melton (3) on the scoresheet. Since then Fleet have won four league games, including 1-0 against Badshot last time out, to sit comfortably in mid-table with 13 points from 10 games. They are scoring 2.4 per game but conceding 3.5. Layla Drury is their top scorer with 8 from 11.
In the FA Cup they lost 6-1 at home to Division 1 South runaway leaders Farnham Town and have progressed in the League Cup with a penalties win over Wimborne Town.

I was just about to comment on that. I’m delighted with the live coverage, but it is hard to tell which team is in the ball when it’s on the other side of the pitch.
Though it didn’t obscure the goal.
