Richard Thomas was Bloomfield’s assistant at Wycombe and Luton. Seems strange that Bloomfield would choose Dodds over Thomas.

I suspect Blooms will do OK with Oxford. now that he’s not having to deal with a bunch of sulky big-time charlies pissed off that they’re no longer in the prem. Shame the Blooms Watch thread got censored, I’m looking forward to following his progress.

I think you will find he is now at a club where the fans are just as sulky with their delusions of grandeur

Can we change the title of this thread now to just Matt Bloomfield? I know that would probably upset some of the more spiteful and vindictive gasroomers, but I see that as a bonus.

Oxford’s first came from a long throw and a flick-on. Mixing it.
I was speaking to an oxford fan today getting very excited about Bloomfield running over the pitch and fist pumping etc at Leicester as if he had only ever done it at oxford . Took great delight in telling him don’t worry he does it at every club don’t think oxford are special. I guess they are in their honeymoon period it will soon change after a few losses.
He’s really got his work cut out. He probably has a better “set of lads” who will work harder for him than at Luton, but with half the quality.
We’ll watch with interest, but it doesn’t half feel like he could be under real pressure by autumn next season.
