Matt’s Sad Departure - Sincere, Strongly Held Opinions and possibly Humour here

Those who have been reading the Wigan Match Day thread will know why this thread has appeared. Hopefully it will be a place where anyone can have a heated passionate discussion or any other sort of discussion about the events of Jan 14th 2025 without followers of other topics of interest coming across such discussions without warning.

To start it off and maybe set a tone here is a quote from @Erroll_Sims in a screenshot taken from that Wigan match thread …

I hope you don’t mind @Errol_Sims - if you do I am quite happy to edit.

It was a pretty rubbish game although the result is ultimately the most important thing.

It was good to see Duff acknowledge the performance wasn’t good enough in the post-match interview.

While we’ve had a few positive results recently we haven’t beaten any side with anything about them.

Thanks Chris :slightly_smiling_face: Well I was right about the humour - it is a strong point of the Gasroom.

I think Duff is a much better manager than Bloomfield. But Blooms is a superb human.

Don’t know much about Dan Rice, but it’s all been a bit chaotic since he walked through the door. Hopefully the young fella will get the hang of running a football club.

Duff may be a better manager than Blooms at the moment, but whose to know in the future. If Rice can’t manage a piss up in a brewery at the age of 39, I don’t think he’s likely to improve.

Am I on the right thread!

If Dan Rice wasn’t such a gargantuan self-regarding arsehole we could be playing Leicester City today with Richard Kone up front.

Instead we look shit against a terrible Blackpool side in a relegation six pointer.

Having downgraded every department of the pitch. That takes some doing.
