Agreed.

Future chat only please.

In fairness he was doubting the Morley signing minutes before it was breaking, so he’s having one of those days.

Yes it was. Some Oxford fan made me watch one of their videos because they thought I was obsessed with them and they thought my name was Arnos Grove.:winking_face_with_tongue:

Owwww! Pass me the Savlon.

Sick Burn GIF by MOODMANRIP @ArnosGrove

There’s no coming back from a @Chickenhead burn. Unparalleled in their wit and savagery.

In keeping with the thread, that’s a cataclysmic burn. You’ll never fully recover.

Hahahahahahahahaha

Time flies. 1 year ago today.

Longest 8 months of my life. I won’t get that time back.

I heard it was a very entertaining time.

I know everyone on here wants to watch terrible Long ball games under limited managers, but I’d rather be relegated twice and go out of business playing youngsters who have a bit of style than watch us clawing our way up the table with this dull attritional football under Duff. It’s just so…well…League One.

Wait till you find out what league we play in.

I don’t believe that we are anywhere near where Duff would want us to be as a team, in terms of the style.

Just as we were pretty awful to watch for the initial parts of Bloomfield’s reign, it obviously got a lot better to the point where sure, we’d still hoof when we had to, but there was a fair amount of decent attacking football being played.

You can see under Duff that there is actually some decent midfield interplay happening, and that part is only set to get stronger once Morley settles in again, Henderson returns, and we figure how to use Harris properly.

CBM is starting to come into his own too.

We are still weak up front, obviously, albeit with high hopes placed upon Lowe once fit.

But I think this has to be seen as a transitional season mostly spent compensating for the wreck of Doddsball.

Once Duff has a full close season (obviously in conjunction with the esteemed Messrs. Rice & Stockwell) to shape the squad further, I feel like the football will be a lot less attritional.

Don’t forget that our academy is a huge focus for the powers that be, and in order for the academy to be an attractive prospect for players, it should most likely be working towards a style that can ensure saleable players.

I doubt that if all we taught our academy kids was how to be Stevenage reserves, that it’s going to be a success. So you’d think attritional football can’t be the goal for either the first team, or the academy.
