The edits were a mixture of my spelling/grammar being awful (dyslexia) and trying hard to be better (which has resulted in me being more than a little snappy when people still pick me up on it - I am trying!) but also realising the initial post was massively negative as it started out only highlighting the negatives of how we had played recently so wanted to change the narrative a little bit.
The 2nd formation was just putting round pegs in round holes and who’d have thunk it, seemed to work ok last night.
Think I mentioned in one of my walls of text somewhere that with the Wingback system we either don’t have the personnel to play it or playing it wrong. I think it’s been more of the former as I do t think Fred enjoys the role/position.
Can’t agree with the negativity of some about Leahy. He has been very important, been working his socks off and as others have mentioned, he’s a dead ball specialist.
Besides lack of minutes for Bakinson, his strengths are quick ball to feet and tracking. As we saw with the Charlton game, the ball was popping in the air continuously. Bakinson, for me, would have been taken out of the game.
I want to watch exciting attacking football at Adams Park during the regular season, and that matters more than the result, at least to a certain degree.
However I don’t care what formation or tactics we play on Thursday. Be it long ball or hairy balls, four at the back or 9 at the back, so long as we win the tie - even if it’s 30-29 on penalties. I’m not going to get so many more opportunities to watch WWFC play in the Championship.
So dare I say it that finally this qualifies as a must win game?
