New to area

Hi all!

After years of being a Wycombe fan from Hillingdon area, I’ve made the plunge and moved to Saunderton.

Anyway, was wondering if there are any 5 a side type games, for older guys ( 45yr old) or even any golfers?

Im hoping to get some more games in though, and I think can even get a bus!

Hi @Benk

I do know that there are a group of Dad’s that meet up on a Tuesday evening for a kick-about. They rent out a third of an astro turf, normally £4 a session. However, it is over at Tring, normally 8-9:30pm. Would this work?

Not too far, assuming you drive.

Thanks Otter.

Thats not that far really. As long they can take an unfit mid forty year old who’s engine has gone!

There’s a few five a side games with older folks play up Cressex and in John Hampden, there’s even a walking football (if your engine has totally gone!) @glasshalffull1 used to mention, although not sure where that plays. If I can figure out some contact details I’ll post them here or ping them to you.

I can still run. Just get slower as the games gets on!

Hi Benk, as it happens I play golf, so does Alan Cecil, Ozzie the relaxed, likewise Steve Wilson who doesn’t post on here but I see him regularly both here and at Wycombe Shites Golf Club if that helps?

Hi, if you are looking to add a number let me know! I’ve gradually played less and less, but being in the shires may give me more chance. I’ve got Princes Risborough down the road, though its just 9. Im yet to play it. But looking to get back into golf.

Always up for hitting some balls, haven’t played for a while but quite fancy a round whilst the summer is still here.

You might want to play here. We’re now leaseholder for Farnham GC.

Crazy times.

Was pretty waterlogged last time I played there……plus it’s effectively in Slough!

Years back i played it! It was quote boring if I remember.

Weird that we’ve brought ( leased) a golf club.

It was waterlogged last time I played it only nine holes open, I haven’t bothered since tbh.

Well I am a 5 day member at Wycombe Heights, don’t bother with seven day membership for obvious reasons. You are more than welcome to join us two. I will be honest though we tee off early Wednesday and Friday mornings and we are done by 10.15. Gives us more time for the rest of the day. :man_shrugging:

Until my best man, best friend, golf and table tennis partner and highly competitive all round sportsman very sadly contracted Parkinson’s disease nearly ten years ago we played more or less weekly on the nine hole green course at what is now described as the Wexham Park Golf Centre. It’s in a beautiful setting, on the level, and perfect for anyone getting on in years and playing socially rather than competitively.

Im all for an early game. Will definitely look to get one in soon, if that’s good with you!

there are three of us on a Wednesday morning and two of us on a Friday morning. Teeing off at 06.48 both mornings. Any preference? BTW I am on my lonesome September for the 1st few weeks.

Fridays generally better for me. Though this week a bit soon after a twisted ankle. But hopefully soon!

No rush. Whenever :man_shrugging:

I can’t complain about walking to the wife, then pop in 18 holes.
