Matt Bloomfield’s Luton battled to a 1-0 victory at Pride Park. He can be very proud.

Apparently that was Bulman’s first touch in the EFL!

Lovers of “bed-wetting” (@eric_plant ) will find plenty to cherish on the Wrexham forum this evening following their draw (a mere draw, mind, not even a defeat) to our beloved horse-punching friends - almost makes this place look like a hotbed of positivity in comparison.

The ref’s whistle went to his mouth when the ball hit the arm of James yet he didn’t blow!

I know it was a good result, but 13 minutes on Football Focus on Man U not being complete crap in one game in the second rate European competition? They didn’t even have any moving pictures!

Derby winning 2-0 though

Didn’t last

Leeds & Burnley confirmed promoted from the Championship this afternoon, both still on track to get 100 points.

At the other end Derby & Luton on the same points but Luton have a vastly inferior goal difference but have arguably the harder 2 final games.

Anyone know what’s going on in the Combined Counties League? Seems like there are issues working out who has qualified for the NL playoffs almost every season.

Jersey Bulls who “won” the league on GD have been accused of playing an illegible player and deducted three points which would drop them into the playoffs.Appears they have taken legal action to fight the deduction. Jersey Bulls title hopes in balance after points deduction - BBC Sport

“The most illegible batchelor in town”, @DevC?

Appears the situation is that a player got 10 yellow cards which generates a two game ban so didnt play in the next two games. However one yellow was in a VAse game and so didn’t count towards the ten games. He the n got another yellow card which meant he was then suspended for two games but played and was therefore ineligible.

Oops!!

Any basis for appeal? Doesn’t sound like it.

Its strongly rumoured that Farke is going to be sacked by Leeds.

Lucas Akins who scored for Mansfield against us in January has been jailed for 14 months following death of a cyclist in a traffic accident.
By all accounts he is a decent bloke who made a tragic error not seeing the bike as he pulled out of a junction while driving his daughter to a lesson.
Tragic incident with many wrecked lives including the victims family and Akins himself.
Two thoughts

  1. what gain does society get from jailing a man for what was a genuine accident?
  2. how on earth has our justice system got so bad that it takes three years from the incident before the case comes to court?

1: Nothing really
2: The UK is in steep decline
