Joey Barton thinks marriage is a contact sport, doesn’t he?
Me neither and I thought I could remember every player if mentioned.
Lavin I don’t recall at all.
File Lavin in the same drawer as Niall Thompson.
Same as everyone else. Zero memory of Lavin playing for us, but - having trawled through Chairboys on the Net (via some lengthy distraction on the match reports of the FA Cup run - ahh) - I did see one game he played for us (dull 0-0 draw at home to Brentford) in Feb 2001
(he played 4 in total for us)
I only remember him because his booting the ball into the crowd incident stuck in my memory and I was a bit surprised we’d sign a player who had quite a big black mark over him.
I have zero recollection about how he played for us.
Can’t have been him, these were at night.
A real basketball game at Craven Cottage tonight (Fulham 4-5 Man City) now into time added on
It was far more entertaining than watch us tonight, that’s for sure.
Harland also hit the post, at 5-2, and Fulham had one cleared from off the line (about 2 ft out actually, but keeper was beaten) at 5-4.
Newcastle v Spurs is also turning out to be an entertaining finish.
FT 2-2, Newcastle lead twice.
Goals in 71, 78, 86 (pen) & 90+8 (overhead kick)
And the overhead kick came from about 15 yards out!
Now THAT’S a firework display https://www.instagram.com/reel/DRuWnQtit5_/?igsh=MWVxamp2Mm43MzVhOQ==
That’s barely any different to previous editions, is it? I think that article has overcomplicated it. I’ve run mock draws (yes, I have far too much time on my hands) and it’s quite simple.
Oh, they’re keeping the top 4 ranked teams in separate quarters - so like a tennis draw. Makes sense.
Handy guide making it all crystal clear (well almost anyway)…
BBC News - World Cup draw 2026: Format, start time, seeding, pots & dates - BBC Sport
I quite like the idea of the top four seeds being kept apart (as long as they win their group) but it me has upset some people.
The confusion comes from the inter-confederation playoff I guess. It seems daft having the draw before you know whose qualified.
So we could have a group of England, Australia, South Africa and Wales?
The Village People are performing YMCA at the close of the draw!
How on earth are they still going?
Yep! Based on ranking, our best case scenario is Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.
