Dare I say this but I do feel the ding have a chance of the play-offs, especially if Marriott stays fit. They do seem to be bringing in some experienced players to push for the play-off slots.

I really hope they don’t make the play-offs mind you.

interesting that it was Tafazolli who was wrongly named on the teamsheet according to a local reporter.

They’ve got a huge chance of playoffs if they sign Ricardo Santos to add to Will Keane. Since Paudie came back from injury they’re flying. They’ve got one of the league’s best players in Wing. I certainly expect them to finish above us unless we make major moves in the window in the coming weeks.

That’s Bobby C for you. Been there, done it. A history of delivery. Lommy should’ve kept him as the chairman instead of the long-term interim one that replaced him.

I suspect Bobby C already had his plans in place to buy the ding by the time he sold to ML, despite saying he was too old for all the travelling involved etc.

What was the quote…..

“You might be seeing me sooner than you think.”

Something ominous like that.

6th place is up for grabs between a lot of teams.

We’re one of them and the Ding certainly are another contender.

I see Bloomfield and Dodd’s didn’t take long to get their style of play at Oxford. Report said uninspiring 0-0 draw.

Could well be the peak of their achievements this season.

Sorry to be a fun sponge but 0-0 is a very creditable first result for them in game one.

Glad Humphreys plumped to be with his ex Ipswich coach at Huddersfield

I honestly think Humphreys would have struggled to get into our midfield if Scowen, Henderson, Mullins and Boyd-Munce are all fit.

Grant sacked by Huddersfield.

And rightly so. I dislike kneejerk manager sackings, but when the choice of manager was so obviously wrong in the first case (like M Dodds) then sometimes it’s better to act quickly.

For a team with the resources of Hudds to be only 3 points ahead of us (and given the long period of Dodds in charge, and the overall weakness of the league) is a shambles.

Let us hope they don’t turn their attention back to Mr Duff.

Unusually, @PBo, I disagree. Huddersfield sacked Michael Duff at a slightly later stage of the season last year with the team in seventh, I recall - certainly only just outside the play-off places. Their desperation did them no good.

Lee Grant hasn’t been perfect and the fans have been grumbling. But to give a manager with an excellent coaching track record 5 months of his first season in post is just ridiculous when you are in the top third of the division you’re trying to get out of. Sooner or later, a board has to back their manager through a bad spell because they have the right credentials. The Terriers have a bad board. The fans’ expectations are unrealistic and the board needs to face them down.

When I read that I couldn’t feel but draw the comparisons to the Dodds appointment and us becoming an entitled bunch.
