See how the first week of pitch renovations looked at Adams Park as we prepare for our first brand-new pitch in 23 years, complete with new irrigation, drainage and undersoil heating systems. pic.twitter.com/adYdZe7ztX

NEW undersoil heating? Check us out spending the cash!! Hopefully this is a positive sign with some cash transfers this summer.
Any news of the yellow brick road or chair-lift?
absolutely mesmeric, that little video
Hope we make the pitch a bit wider again
When I grow up, I want to just spend a day driving all over a football pitch with a bulldozer
That (the widening ) was what Dan Rice said would happen, wasn’t it - I think at the Trust meeting?
Oh did he? That’s good to hear.
I never understood why on earth Bloomfield didn’t do it at the start of the 2023/2024 season given that he had his heart set on playing wingbacks
We could leave it like that and it would still be better than some of the pitches in this division
Can’t believe Eric will let this hyperbole pass.
At 21 seconds you can see a big clump of the heating pipes being taken out. It’s taken 35 years to install an in-pitch watering system. The total bill for the work is seven figures.
If it’s £1.2M that means we can spend an additional £1.8M on transfer fees and wages. The split is 60/40 for investment with transfers and wages taking 60%.
Plus the enhancements to Marlow Road…
I would assume they will be moving the pitch closer to the away stand. BY doing this, it will then give us enough room to rebuild the terrace on the current footprint with quite a large stand and room to still get behind to the FA.
I think there is around 8-10M that the pitch can move closer to the away stand.
Looking at Google earth images there may indeed be room to move the playing area closer to the away end and/or shorten the pitch at the home end. However the pitch currently extends up to the edge of the away end so I don’t see how it can be moved?
Pitch = grass area as distinct from …
Playing area = marked area.
There is almost certainly some rule about minimum run off area too, although I suspect we have way more than the requirement all round.
Wasn’t Bobby C’s idea to move the pitch closer to the family stand and away end, then allowing the stand behind the dugouts to have there seating extended towards the pitch and the terrace rebuilt slightly larger and also, subsequently, closer to the pitch?
All of which, I suspect, is moot now the additional access road has gone deathly quiet as it seems the want for increased capacity isn’t being talked about as much so the new pitch will probably be in exactly the same place as it was before.
We might be in the “if it’s broke, why bother fixing it” stage.
I wonder how the trust are financing their share of this.
I’d imagine seeing less than 5,000 home fans turn up for a playoff semi-final has made them think that an access road isn’t very important.
These ground improvements were part of the agreement with Couhig weren’t they?
Great to see this investment. Whatever is said about Rice, Dodds, and the second half of last season, it’s surely impossible to fall out with money being spent on improving our pitch, our training facilities, and reintroducing an Academy. Call me prudent but I prefer this cash-splashing to signing Jay Stansfield or equivalent.
