QPR beat Stevenage 6-0 . What does that say about Stevenage ? Oh and I almost forgot. QPR then lost their next friendly 6-0 to Castellon who are in the Spanish second div . Go figure.
If we can score more than the 39 across the whole season that his results so far suggest that would be awesome. It’s like being in the Premier League and trying to just beat Derby’s points total.
I didn’t say who’ll be scoring them.
I’m not sure that they count if the goals are in league games that Wycombe are not actually involved in.
Henderson has made many pro appearances.
Apologies for mix up and deleted.
Henderson played 30 odd games in the Belgian top flight last season.
The second half team also had:
- Kone
- Leahy
- Tilley (new signing)
- Fin Back
- Berry
And according to Sofascore three of the players you mention didn’t make it off the bench. So, it’s hardly half the “players aren’t professional footballers,” except maybe in the figurative sense that they don’t look like they know how to play professional football.
Oh Christ alive you’re right. That is bad. Apologies. Will delete all!
Considering there was some wondering how linked together the academy players training at Harlington and first team players at Marlow Road will be, I think it’s great to see a number of academy players getting a runout in first team pre season games.
Which academy players. I can only spot - maybe - 1 that played tonight, but that could easily be as I have no idea who’s in the squad now and whether they’re academy or another signing from the somewhere like the Andorran top flight!
Gregory, Savage and Gurpinder.
Not sure if they actually played to be fair but being involved in the squad is nice to see
They didn’t play a single minute between them.
So, that’s zero youth team players playing which is less than normally happens in pre-season. That said, in fairness to Dodds he has a whole new squad to bed in so it’s not surprising that he’s ignoring the academy players.
The main point was linking them with the first team so there is some cohesion between the two, rather than than them being separate entities. But whatever, keep looking at the negatives
I thought I heard Gregory mentioned a few times on comms?
Sam Avery said on X that Gregory’s played left back
He was there. I just wasn’t sure if he was youth team or not. He’s the “maybe 1” that I mentioned.
So, there was one academy player involved, which is nice to see.
But I completely understand that Dodds can’t really use the games to give them minutes as he has an entire new first 11 to work out and bed in.
In my opinoin he’s 100% correct to do what he’s doing. I’d do the same and think it’s for the best. But to claim it’s somehow a win for the academy is a little odd when it’s the polar opposite.
Fucking hell. All I said was that it was nice to see some academy players included in the squad and even some playing, when some people wondered how linked with the first team they would be while training 45 minutes down the road at Heathrow.
Gregory signed for the academy a week ago and he’s been given 45 minutes with the first team tonight even with the massive number of first team players we have signed. If that’s not a carrot for some of the other academy players I don’t know what is.
Yep Gregory played. He was the number 33. Very youthful looking!
What about Matton. Is he academy as well?
