Reading Turmoil

I have major CEO envy towards Reading.

Each to their own eh

I’m still pissed at their fans vitriol towards our fans when the whole Bearwood fiasco was rumbling. We were made to feel like right ***** over it and the one person who could have calmed it went and bought their club.

I’m still bitter. I shouldn’t be. I am.

The sooner this thread gets shut down and deleted the better.

Not a criticism.

Was it Yeovil Couhig was trying to buy before us? But fell through. Hes a businessman using football.

Hes obviously savvy though. And said the right things at wycombe.

But clearly despite the change of ownership, still making unbelievable decisions. Four year contracts in League 1. Not sure what financial management courses JJ must have been on !!!

Rob is the ex we miss… At times he embarrassed us with his American tack, his false promises and fireworks, but deep down, he was good for us.
Now we’re bitter. He moved on to bigger things and left us behind… Now we have a new lover, on the face of it in public he’s a wealthy family man with the clubs best interests at heart… but behind closed doors, he’s a narcissistic c#nt who has almost destroyed our identity with his controlling ways…

And welcome back to Bargain Hunt and in this edition the blue team has managed to buy a smouldering skip in Berkshire, 30 stained blankets and this luvvery replica tea urn for £159.

Cheap as chips.

I’m not angry at him. There is one thing I am disappointed in him that sticks in my craw:

ā€œYeah, I’m a wandererā€

You never were though Rob, were you? Because if you were you would still be. That’s how this football thing works.

That said, I do think he will be able to do a decent job at turning Reading around from the basket case it was into something he can sell on, like he did with us. But if I were a Reading Fan I wouldn’t be kidded on that he is like you, supports your team in the same way you have or even has your best interests at heart (that would be a by product)

He’s a businessman who has turned around one failing football club and is now on the next challenge.

I ask this when he came to us and Reading fans should ask him ā€œwhat’s your exit strategy?ā€. I predict in 5 years he’ll be gone from Reading.

I like Rob Couhig. He’s got a bit of showbiz about him and he certainly engaged me a lot more than the current set of robots do.

Of course he was never a Wanderer, other than when he owned us. He freely admitted he knew barely anything about the culture of football in this country, so it’s not a great shock that the concept of ā€˜one club for life’ passes him by.

And the people who worked at Wycombe tended to like working for him. You can say he got lucky with Gaz and the team he inherited, but I don’t underestimate the part he and the wider family played in just letting Gaz get on with in. Would Mikhail, Eduard and Dan have done that? No chance.

I believe this is why it was Rob AND Pete that was vital for us. One was the business brain, one got what it meant to be a fan. I think we would have been much more worse off without Pete’s influence.

It’ll be interesting to see how things go at Reading without Pete.

I guess that’s why JJ is on board.
