So that’s it, another season comes to end. Congratulations to @Bayo for being the only one to predict the score correctly this week.
Over the course of the season, @counting_sheep , @Marty and @Mandown each got seven predictions right to share the prize for most correct score predictions. Well done all, impressive effort. Only seven predictions behind them came @LX3.0 @Atomic @Loakes @Erroll_Sims who like an England batsman in Australia failed to trouble the scorers. Better luck next season guys.
This was quite a difficult season for predicting with results inconsistent. Interestingly most people performed better in the first half of the season than the second. @ChipsintheAdams lead from @PukkaPie at the quarter season stage but they both then quickly faded away to midtable obscurity.
It was in the second quarter of the season that @counting_sheep made his move scoring 35 points in 12 games with four correct score predictions in that period. At halfway @counting_sheep lead @our_frank by five points with @Bayo a further five points behind. Fourth place was already twenty points behind our leader at that stage.
@Bayo moved into second in Wk24 as @our_frank faded and really for the rest of the season no one could mount a charge to challenge them. @bayo stayed second all season but interestingly (well ish) but for the late winner by our young lad, @DevC and @MindlessDrugHoover would have overtaken him to stand on the podium in second and third.
Slightly unnoticed however but the prize for best predictor in the second half of the season goes to young Sadie , daughter of @Ryan_W_Kirkby. Well done indeed young lady.

What really matters however is the overall season table and hard as I try to build up suspense, this season was a bit of a procession with @counting_sheep getting ahead by Christmas and never being seriously threatened. Many congratulations on a seriously impressive predicting performance. Congrats too to @Bayo and @Commoner in second and third. I believe @Commoner will also stand on the podium in @railwaysteve excellent crowd prediction contest - an impressive all round performance. Well done mate.

The big winner of our little contest was however not your champion @counting_sheep , impressive though his performance was. The Samaritans volunteers will try to be there to answer calls from people in emotional distress at any time day or night but they need help from the public to pay for power and building repairs and rates and IT costs etc etc to allow them to do so. This year we funded around 600 such calls, some of which may have been life changing for the caller, some perhaps even life saving. A massive massive thank you to all those who donated to make those calls possible and to the site owners for letting us do this. The Gasroom really is a special place
