Great idea. Be interesting to see if its capped at a certain amount. Can’t sell too many incase people dont bother going the game and just get the top for £25.
I’ve never had a season ticket for Wycombe but I’d love to get the kids one. They’ve been trust members in the past.
Anything that reaches out to younger supporters is a positive, seen it at a couple of away games this year when it’s a quid a kid then you see more in the away end.
Terms and conditions will apply for the free shirt element of the package. Children who are already on the subscription package will be eligible for the free shirt and will see their monthly payments in line with the £25 annual price.
If it helps, my kids and I have a “what you hear at footballs stays at football” policy. So far the kids haven’t called me a wanker, so it seems to be working.
Quite surprised they’ve done this for every seat. Could make trying to get a seat next to my ST mates in block Q quite difficult.
If I can’t sit with them I’m more likely to just VPN it. Which means they’ve essentially swapped my £31 for £1.
Other than that, a great initiative. Will be fun to see some of the old miseries in the Frank Adams mixing with excitable youths. There’s one old fella near us who has a go at anyone who leaves their seat during the match and his other half frowns on talking!
Great idea by the club always thought we should do something like that years ago but money was vital in those days so understand why they didn’t. Anything to improve attendances has to be applauded surely parking / transport must be next on agenda one of the main reasons many people don’t come.
Great initiative by the looks of it. For the past three seasons I’ve typically gone to 8-10 games with my youngster, mainly home with a couple away. Maybe I’ll be tempted to go the whole hog next term.
Great gesture. If I were to be cynical, I wonder whether the free shirt will be this year’s excess stock of the current set of shirts, or one fresh for next season. They’ve not announced it yet but I think we’re due for a new home shirt and at least one change shirt.
If we’re being cynical maybe it’s excess stock from a few seasons back which Couhig refused to give away or even sell for less than silly money.
One of Couhig’s most baffling decisions, completely misunderstanding that the more kids in Wycombe shirts you see the more supporters you get though the door.
But more seriously, perhaps of interest in the EFL Financial Regulations:
12.13.1 ‘Club Income’ means income arising from the Club’s trading activities, such as
gate receipts and other match-day income, amounts receivable from other
Clubs (e.g. pursuant to contracts for the sale of player registrations), amounts
receivable pursuant to sponsorship agreements or other commercial
contracts, and amounts that The League had previously said would be
receivable from the Pool Account. ‘Club Income’ does not include:
(a) any income not received due to the non-renewal upon expiry of a
sponsorship agreement or other commercial contract; or
(b) any income received either directly or indirectly (including but not
limited to income by way of sponsorship agreement or other
commercial contract) from an Associated Party of the Person who has
Control of the Club
This is an extremely welcome decision by the club. WW’s main support in recent years has been under 18s and over 50s. I’ve noticed a discernible drop off in the number of children in the Family Stand this season. This is very positive as the youngsters bring an enthusiasm and vibrance to home games. A big well done to whoever pushed this idea through!
