SEAT CLEANING @ ADAMS PARK

Didn’t realise we had so many Debbie Downers lurking around. It’s a bit of fun, you get to see behind the scenes, you get a sense of inner warmth from knowing you are helping with the upkeep of a Trust asset, you get a very nice free lunch and as I said you get to meet me and possibly some other Gasroomers…what more do you need?

Oh and you can also ensure that the seat you actually sit on is clean from dust, grime and pigeon poo (unless you are a terrace dweller of course).

I can see the community spirit of it all, and if people enjoy doing it good for them.

But now the club is owned by a billionaire it feels to me a bit like volunteering to go and sweep the floors at Tesco in your own time.

Apologies for being a Debbie Downer.

Why can’t the players do it? We pay their wages and all that going up and down steps and bending over to clean a seat will help their pre-season fitness.

Aye, but if there were (are?) people who spend hours a day on an online forum about Tesco, planning their visits to new Tescos and reminiscing about past trips to Tesco they would probably love it.

I’m sure there are

And to be fair, if this was Disney World, they’d charge people for the experience.

Either (and you can pronounce that either as Ivor or Eva).

You would get a bit of overtime to sweep the floor at a Tesco’s store in Manchester which has 185,500 square metres of floor space

Not to be confused, presumably, with Moaning Minnie, Negative Nancy or Kilroy.

I can’t make it, but it’s a great idea and nobody is being press-ganged. Community spirit and engagement is to be encouraged in these troubled times.

I’ve always wondered which is the correct pronounciation and have been guilty of alternating.

A working terrace would be nice for a start.

Which day(s) is it taking place ?

The seat cleaning is taking place on Wednesday 22nd and Tuesday 28th July from 9.30am onwards. Here’s a link where you can find the info. Spend a day with fans at Adams Park for stadium preparation ahead of new season

Would be great to have a few more Gasroomers come down, can be full or part of a day, just need to email Nigel at the Trust to register beforehand. Follow the link for all the info.

Will Rice be there to meet and greet!

I think he’ll be amongst the free snacks.

For those wanting to come please remember to view the link I posted above and register your interest with Nigel from the Trust.

See all of you Gasroomers down there Wednesday.

OK fellow Gasroomers, only one more sleep until the big extravaganza that is (the first of two) Seat Cleaning Day at Adams Park. See my link above but basically be in reception between 9 and 9.30 tomorrow morning and we can get you registered.

So put down that IPA, soy latte or Robinsons barley water, get out of your arm chair and be down at AP in the morning so as not to miss the fun!

And put his brogues on the seats.

Well the first seat cleaning day was a success with the Origin, Family Stand and Box seat all done, and I still have some flexibility in my back today. Frank Adams to do next Tuesday so hopefully I’ll see some of you work shy elbow grease avoiders then…?
