I think you are spot on @Bayo and I feel that might lead to us not really doing that much business in the summer window. ML may put the brakes on first team spend. That ‘brakes on’ strategy, if it happens, may well lead to Duff leaving the club, which would be a shame.
Wycombe and Chelsea youth scouts see some yoofs having a kickabout in a London slum.
Would you like to join the academy at Wycombe?
Fack off ya fackin cahnt
Would you like to join the academy at Chelsea?
Yes please mister.
That is the main reason Lommy might want us to get a promotion or two.
Going to be the email subject when they’re trying to get people to purchase season tickets I heard
I disagree, it’s much better to be a Championship club with an academy than a League One club, not least in the attraction of players and potential shop window.
I’m not sure fans will be chomping at the bit for mid table L1 finishes every season but happy days we’ve sold an academy player for millions.
FWIW I’m taking all Duffs interviews as he knows he’s got a say in transfers during pre season and he knows the club will ship out those he doesn’t want, which will be a huge number! The OG have made mistakes but they also appear to learn from them so optimistically I think they’ll change strategy next season and bring in some proven league one quality and add a bit of strength, make us tough to play against again.
To be self sustainable you need to sell Academy players and then invest that money in the first team. I thought that was one of the main points in Lommys stated goals.
Because of the EFL financial constraints Lommy cannot spend money willy nilly to achieve promotion. However spending is a bit easier once the Academy starts bringing in cash (hopefully!)
Yes, let’s get rid of the manager who took us from the bottom end of the table up to the play-offs.
I know we have injuries, but saying ‘I know we have’ at the start of the sentence means that I have accounted for it and I think it doesn’t make a blind bit of difference if half our first team are on the treatment table - so our drop off must be due to the manager.
Also, when he calls the players out for their lack of discipline and their lack of hunger, you can’t talk to the playing staff like that - they need mental fellatio, not someone acting all in charge and stuff . Now I don’t know any of the players at all, or indeed any of the backroom staff, nor have I seen any twitters from them, but clearly #lostthedresssingroom. Someone from another club who was equally intimate with the situation there once said the same thing.
But anyway, a chap who I have never met before who just so happens to be a wealthy businessman from just south of central Russia - I know his mind, he’s fine with us bobbing around mid-table.
But I do mind, we can’t afford to let this guy with his wheat and chaff ideas do a summer transfer window, Duff out.
Life is first boredom, then fear.
Whether or not we use it, it goes,
Children under 14 £10
Of course he should be our Head Coach - we do not need any more disruption over the summer than there is likely to be with the reshaping of the squad.
The one thing I would like him to do is to give the youngsters a chance - not only those in the current squad but also the senior academy boys. Hopefully they will all be given a go in the pre-season friendlies to see which of them is up for the challenge.
