Well, I’ve been biting my tongue ever since Wycombe legend Matt Bloomfield said enough is enough after about 23 years at the club because of the way he was treated by the club hierarchy.
The whole thing stunk to high heavens, sacking his staff on the eve of the season, sacking his head of recruitment (who performed excellently) mid season then undermined him by signing a load of unknown/unwanted “data” signings. Then replacing said manager with a well meaning, but totally out of his depth youth coach with zero managerial experience when we needed an experienced figurehead.
Deep down, we all knew it at the time, but had to ride with it. Give the benefit of the doubt that he knew what he was doing.
I said months ago Rice and Dodds would be judged on their results and despite having loads of points in the bag to play with thanks to the excellent work done beforehand it’s been a total shitshow, awful football with poor results.
Sat on the train home utterly depressed at the train wreck we have had to witness since the new year. It’s been death by a thousand cuts and I feel sorry for much of the squad in place pre January who have had to play through this clusterfuck.
From one of the most thrilling, exciting few months watching us from August until the end of 2024 to this utter shambles.
Buzzing for next season under Rice and Dodds - NOT!

Ive dreamt for years of watching wycombe in the championship and travelling to all the fantastic grounds in it (covid season from the sofa just wasn’t the same). We were in an unbelievable position of strength in January to achieve that so excuse me for calling out Rice for the absolute disaster he’s overseen this year.

Just listened to Dodds’ interview on 3CR and he appears to throw the players under the bus, alluding to the fact he got the maximum out of the players that he could. That is a staggering piece of analysis.

Dan Rice needs to be sacked and needs to be sacked today.
Someone is ultimately responsible for us wasting £1.5m plus on a training facility at Harlington.
Someone is ultimately responsible for what was probably one of the most bizarre transfer windows in football history.
Someone is ultimately responsible who spent 6 months working against a Manager who had us playing the best football for probably 30 years.
Someone is ultimately responsible for us throwing away promotion.
Someone is responsible for destroying the culture within our football club.
All because someone wanted to play football manager.
No one, repeat no one, is bigger than Wycombe Wanderers Football Club. He needs to go and go now.
Mr Lomtadze, if you are reading this, please spend an hour of today listening to a podcast called the Football Psychology show and the episode on creating a Club Culture with Gareth Ainsworth and Richard Dobson. That is what Wycombe Wanderers is about. It doesn’t really matter how much money you throw at it, without a Club Culture you are not going to be successful.
