Home fans in the away end, away fans in the top corner of the Woodlands. It would take some turnstyle switchng but it could be achieved.
If we end up with a three side ground itâs going to be awkward.
I am sure another club already has that donât they?
Christ if the atmosphere wasnât tame already it will be now.
Monumental balls up imo. It hardly happened overnight.
Assume this inspection was the last few days rather than a couple of months ago at the end of the season? Or has this been brewing for 2months?
It says current season ticket holders can be accommodated. Will there be other non season ticket holders allowed in?
If not, will they have to pay standard seat pricing? Or are they given an allowance to pay less than others in the same area? Some awkward decisions.
I assume the current safe capacity of the terrace is close to the number of terrace season tickets.
But itâs going to be a nightmare, much cleaner to close it for as long as it takes to get up to code.
Would sort of be a nice gesture but not really fair on those paying more.
And how would you establish who âwouldâ have gone on the terrace who isnât a STH?
Trawling through all the records on file? Awkward.
Should be easily accessible on their online ticket history. But why should someone pay more to not be able to stand with their mates.
As I said before - complete shit show!
Itâs hard on those who prefer the terrace or go there for the lower price.
But itâs hard to reconcile that with getting the same seats as other paying fans for less.
Yes. Iâm far from an expert, but understood the oft repeated phrase âfull repairing leaseâ to mean exactly that.
Yes this is club responsibility under lease. A technical solution to an issue of this scale is not something you knock up in an afternoon so must have been a known issue for quite a little while.
Or, they have regular inspections of the stadium and it has degraded significantly more between this one and the last one and itâs taken them a little by surprise?
I know Rice and/or the Trust can have a lot of things thrown at them but they will also rely on the information given to them by third parties.
I honestly donât know how quickly concrete degrades. Can it have gone from all clear to shut her down in the time between inspections?
It feels like this has been raised on the Gasroom for at least a couple of years.
There were concerns about the terrace raised on at least a couple of occasions in last five years so this is absolutely on the ownership group.
Weâve all known the terrace was getting close to EOL didnât we? Has been talked about for a while. It would have made sense to have technical solutions as a back up thought long ago - as well as being advised by the structural engineers carrying out the work who may have expirence in this sort of thing and could, in fact, knock up a general outline of what might work
(which to me, is what they have given us. A rough idea what might work while more testing is being carried out during the period home friendlies were due to be played)
Yeah, but if they were told âit has 5 yearsâ last year (for example) but thatâs suddenly gone to âactually itâs failed nowâ this year - you could argue they could have been more proactive, but I wouldnât apportion blame as such on them.
Sometimes, things change. Itâs how they react to that thatâs important.
Neither do I.
And I would be willing to bet none of the ownership do either
Thatâs why you hire structural engineers to do that kind of work which the OG rely on.
If the ownership completely ignores the reports/advice the yes, 100% thatâs on them. But we donât have any evidence of that happening do we?
Iâm not saying we do, but i think if Gary the Gasroomer had spotted it you might think the people in charge would have been aware of the problem.
I will say, what is on the OG, is that this sort of thing, if they were getting it done, probably should have been booked in for the week after the last game was played.
But then, you donât know the availability of these sort of contractors. Or how long they take.
Sure they probably were, thatâs the sort of reason that preseason safety inspections happen. To pick up on these sort of things.
Deflections in concrete, unless massively obvious because something as fallen down, are usually picked up by those guys with the weird tripods and GPS triangulation thingys.
