The Terrace needs repairs

Could this be a good prompt for the club to look at improving the terracing in general?
Acoustics, amenities/facilities, safe standing, bigger stand?

Horrible news. Genuinely horrible news.

And that solution is not really good enough.

That’s what Rob Couhig committed to doing when he changed the constitution of the club! For this to happen is a complete failure by the old and current ownership of the club.

It’s never been entirely clear to me who is responsible for the upkeep of Adams Park. Perhaps that’s the problem, both Trust and Club think it’s the other’s responsibility. But whoever is in charge, this is really, really poor.

I’d say we should take this opportunity to knock it down and rebuild a new terrace, but if they knock it down they won’t be building a new terrace.

The thing needs knocking down and rebuilt to mirror the away end, all safe standing

Although I don’t think this will happen, I wonder whether “safe-standing” should be considered

So the terrace will now only hold 750 persons on any given game as the current capacity is 1494. For all league games this capacity was exceeded in 25/26, except maybe only 1/2 Tuesday night games against small teams from up north.

Utter incompetency from the current Chairman who’s had 2 years to deal with this issue, the previous owners must take some responsibility too.

That makes the ground capacity less than 8500 now.

I believe current capacity of terrace is just 1200.

I think it was quite clear post-Couhig deal: the club.

Explains why the ticket sales for the pre season games haven’t gone on sale.

DEFLECTIONS hey.

That’s what i thought too, but i have a hard time believing they could be this incompetent. Much easier to think both organisations assumed it was the responsibility of the other.

Our chairman is extremely competent he’s just been rewarded with a stake in the club. It’s simply wrong to suggest otherwise.

I’ve been saying and highlighting this issue about the terrace for a long time.

Talk of knocking it down and rebuilding is out of the question as we need another access road which has gone very quiet. The club has major decisions to make and it looks like some of these are being taken out of their hands

That’s even worse if correct.

Timing! The announcement just came out. So suspect you were correct.

Make the away end the home end and change to safe standing. Make the Terrace the away end.

And if worst comes to worst, just keep the seats in the away end.

Too many of them by the sounds of the concrete.

So, will they offer non season ticket holders tickets somewhere else at the same price as the terrace? The admin nightmare. Also, where you have season ticket holders who attend with non season ticket holders.

Complete shit show!!!

Also I didn’t expect so many replies so fast.

I would imagine the current issues are going to push the terrace planning a bit further up the priority ladder, so maybe we’ll see something done before Adams Parks 40th anniversary/birthday.
