some people really don’t like other people knowing more about things than them do they?
If you are happy with people making implications without providing any proof that’s up to you.
For clarity that is in response to Corn Fog.
Or even Corn Dog!
Like Dev’s just because a footballer mistakenly killed someone, why should they have to stop.playing…its time we left some arguments back in Gasroom 2.
I’m probably neutral about DR at the moment, waiting to see how things pan out, but I still think the club hierarchy acted in an appalling manner over Blooms departure. Others don’t.
I’m also underwhelmed by Doddsy so far… but am willing to be amazed
I don’t like people saying they know things as fact, but then not proving what they know is fact. I’m pretty sure that’s what got Trump where he is because you can start shaping your own view and narrative as fact and anything you don’t like is branded as fake news or not real.
So yeah, if things are so bad that detailed information is being leaked out of the club faster than a bucket with no bottom - from people really in the know (so I assume bravely taking a wage from the people they are leaking on) I’d expect actual names and evidence rather than this playground level of gossip and bitching.
I’ll leave it when people either stop asserting things as being true without any evidence or take a larger data pool before drawing conclusions.
So far we have had one (maybe 2) Dan Rice included transfer windows. None of us know what the long term transfer policy by Dan et al will be or Whether or not this last one was a one off due to necessity or the situation the club found itself in.
I’m struggling to quite understand what that means - more than one person was promised they would be Ainsworth’s successor?
You’re rather proving the point that the head coach/manager/gaffer’s input is of little consequence if the board will plough on regardless spending (reportedly) nigh on as much money on transfer fees in the space of a month than we had before then in the history of the club without one in place.
The loan signings were laudable, no one will argue that bringing Bradley in and Taylor back wasn’t shrewd business. But I was talking about the signings that the owners of WWFC forked out (reportedly) around £1.5m in total for. If Lomtadze pulled the plug tomorrow we’d be on the hook for paying any remaining installments and add-on.
I don’t have any personal vendetta against Rice, but he must expect very close scrutiny of his transfer spending as it’s being done in the name of this club.
You might want a statistically significant sample of transfer windows before raising any concerns, we could well be in serious trouble by then.
Yes Sir, and yes I agree, utterly nonsensical.
Lots of new posts!
I felt sure something new was being discussed .
Presuming one was Bloomfield, I wonder who the other might be.
This was inferred from an interview soon after this signing where Anders was asked about how he was feeling about working with Matt Bloomfield, which didn’t seem to elicit much of a response. I haven’t been able to find the interview so this may be a false memory, but I remember it being picked up on in social media.
This isn’t meant as a slight against Anders, we don’t know what he was being told about the management situation when being courted.
Is that like a pea souper?
In a head coach is Role yes, their voice is just one of a number of people. They are not as all powerful and all encompassing as the old football manager concept was.
No longer will Managers have carte Blanche to spunk the poor beleaguered football club chairman’s/owners money up the wall. It’s all done by committee one of whom may well be the head coach, but he’ll not be the defining voice. If a head coach isn’t in post but the recruitment team identify areas that need filling - decisions will still be made to for fill the clubs overall footballing ambitions. Head coaches will be appointed (and fired) on the basis of that vision too.
Welcome to the 21st century of football club ownership.
Anyone would’ve thought we didn’t have a season defining game tomorrow!
Yes, Sir.
If you think this sounds utter nonsense and 100% implausible then I would agree with you.
Kevin Couhig?
We’ve already got to the playoffs, so time for Doddsy to play it safe I reckon.

Welcome to the 21st century of football club ownership.
I’m well aware of how 21st century football club ownership works, at this point I’m pretty sceptical as to how it will suit WWFC. Under the more familiar ‘gaffer’ model there was someone who was ultimately responsible and accountable for the selection of transfer targets and managing the playing budget. At the moment who is accountable if the three big money signings, as the late Al the Pål would have said, “continue to disappoint”?
