Both teams know each other well, with two meetings already this season. The first was a 3-0 win at Burnham in September, a hard fought affair, not wrapped up until two late goals. Potter, Melton and Beaver were on target that day. The second meeting, in the league cup at Burnham in November, was much more comfortable, four goals up at half-time. Wardlaw, Hoesli-Atkins (p), Potter, Melton 2 and Carolan (p) were the scorers.
In recent matches the Hoops lost 3-0 at home to Swindon Town in the FA Cup 2nd Round, in front of a big crowd of 757, had two big league wins, 7-3 at home to Badshot and 6-1 away to Beaconsfield, but surprisingly lost 3-1 at Sholing in their last outing. Apart from that Swindon defeat, they are unbeaten at home this season. Since promotion to the Premier Division, we have a very good record at Marsh Lane and there are always plenty of goals. A superb Potter header in the dying minutes secured the draw there in April.
20/04/25 D 3-3 - Potter 2, Puddefoot
07/01/24 D 2-2 - Riddington, Newberry
04/12/22 W 4-3 - Riddington 3, Sword
14/11/21 W 3-0 - West, Inniss, Nazif
Although the Chairgirls have only dropped two points so far, they are only four points above the chasing pack. There can be no let-up and the Hoops will be smarting over those two defeats, I think it will be a tight game this time and I plan to be there.

Today’s lineup. There is a new player in the squad, Lauren Drewett.
Edit - I can see that Lauren played five games for Reading last season, where she played with Jordanne, and has represented the Army this season. I think she is a defender.

We experienced some technical issues, preventing us from streaming it into YouTube. Due to issues with EE’s SIM plan, the entire thing was very touch and go until about an hour before KO.
However, you can still watch the game via the link below!

9’, OC 0-1 WW, Watkins pen after keeper spilled the ball and brought down Potter as she rounded her.

15’, OC 0-2 WW, lovely curling Potter shot from 15 yards, after a neat passing movement.
Edit - moments before Potter was clean through but shot straight at keeper.
Just, now Potter almost scored again, ball scrambled off the line.

Both really well taken finishes so far.
28’, first chance for Hoops, shot deflected onto post I think. 0-2.

Mulvaney booked for a robust tackle.
HT OC 0-2 WW, good half from us, our goal threat diminished as City got into the game but they only threatened once.

Reading are beating the Flyers 1-0 at HT.
The HT music is better here too.
55’, Meira Ashby on for Amelia Mulvaney.
Good chance for Watkins, shot straight at the keeper.
59’, Lauren Drewett on for Ailish Carolan. Official attendance today is 101.
64’, OC 1-2 WW, Ellie White on the rebound after Ax saved her pen. I couldn’t see at the far end whose tackle gave away the pen.
