Whatever happened to…

Al the pal, a regular poster from years gone by. I believe he was getting on though not as old as Micra. I’ve been dipping in and out of the Gasroom for many years now and only really recognise Che still posting on here under a different name and of course Oily Sailor from days gone by.

Unfortunately Al passed away a fair few years ago.

Oh that’s sad to hear. He was such a regular back in the day.

Very sad. He was a regular poster back in the day, and I remember he wrote an incredibly moving message on the eve of the FA Cup Semi Final at Villa Park in April 2001. Gone but not forgotten.

That is sad to hear, on Gasroom 1 I remember him being a regular poster.

What about Tory Goon? He was also an active poster back in those days.

Sadly Al passed away a few years ago. He lived I believe in Thame which he was usually ribbed about as being in Oxfordshire. Al frequently posted about the attendance as being 19,500 wherever we played, as I think that was the figure at Villa Park v Liverpool. Gone but never forgotten. RIP Al

Tory Goon still posts in the FB groups I believe and I still see Eddie Monsoon knocking about Wycombe and occasionally used to chat with him in The Half Moon (now gone) before games. Not sure of the circumstances but he stopped posting in the Gasroom?

Eddy Monsoon has boycotted the club for some years for reasons which escape me. You still occasionally see him at an away game, but you’re more likely to catch him at the Oval these days.

I still see Eddie at Surrey and Bucks cricket.

Some brilliant old names from the past surfacing.

Eddie Monsoon is a big miss, always enjoyed having a chat about cricket or football with him on an away day or on the Indies coach.

I maybe wrong but I think it had something to do with a Steve Hayes fans forum or the Bookerdome or combination of both for why he no longer attends.

Tory Goon definitely active on the FB group but not sure if he frequents here anymore.

It was nice to read about Al the Pal earlier, good memories of away days of past!

Lovely to be reminded of Alvin, he was always kinder to me than i deserved.

At the Oval?!

Maybe we should have a Wyc/ Surrey member meet up

I’m up for that @prufrock

And sales of Mars bars dipped! RIP Al

Some real blasts from the past here, some big misses.

Maybe my memory isn’t correct but I seem to remember that Eddie Monsoon deliberately never made any comment on what happened on the pitch eg. how he thought Wycombe played or gave his view on how good (or not a player) was? I could be misremembering of course…

I‘be only just found this page.

I remember he could find a moan on a sixpence and would then write “it really is that simple”.

YOYOY was a classic Monsoonism.
