Why did Matt Bloomfield Leave?

Agreed. And I had high hopes for Nathan Bishop before his injury as well. Getting the goalkeeper right is so essential to playing sexy football.

Well said Gez, couldn’t agree more.

True, but MD is/was an inexperienced head coach, whether or not he was the right appointment at the time is questionable but again the fact is he was appointed and no doubt he made mistakes, but now he’s not so inexperienced and hopefully he’s learnt some lessons along the way. We have to get behind him and the squad.
I think part of the problem was MD coming from a massive club to “little Wycombe” maybe swayed his thought processes on how Wycombe can get results. With a bit more experience I think he’ll approach games with a lot more confidence in his own player’s abilities.

I think the beauty of it is that we will soon get to find out. The first few months of the season will give us a good indication of what MDs mindset is all about.

I am hopeful that it will be a version of football that is watchable but my fear is that his early mantra about ‘control’ is so embedded that it will all be very pedestrian and unexciting - albeit controlled.

I genuinely hope I am wrong and I definitely am not in favour of getting rid of MD either now or when/if he has a bad run. Unless we are looking relegation threatened i believe he should be given the full season.

I am pleased with the players we have brought in though.
