Why is Dodds still in Charge?

I can only see space either side of a comma, I’m afraid, but for the life of me I can’t work out the significance of the phenomenon

I wrote at great length half an hour ago outlining my forensically based analysis of this intriguing punctuation spacing phenomenon but I was prevented from posting by a notification about an incorrect URL or something.

In the main, Gaz’s teams only played football in the final third of the pitch. They utilised a highly effective CF (Beast or Vokes) to get possession high up the pitch and bypass the opposition’s press. Then we’d get the ball to players who could do the damage (Mehmeti or GMac). When it worked, it was very difficult to stop. When it didn’t, our possession figures dropped to single digits. You cut your cloth to suit your pocket.

Trying to decifer Dodd’s interview post Mansfield. I believe one he has been told if you don’t get results you will be on your bike. And two he has listened to the players point of view and changed tactics to suit them more.

This reminds me of Bloomfield having persisted with three at the back and the passing the ball backwards tactics he employed untill after the Morecambe game and then listening to the players and changing tactics.

In fact I have been as bored and frustrated with Doddsball as I was with Bloomball up until know. Saturdays performance reminded me of the football we began to play in the later days of Bloomfield. I am hoping this is a new beginning. Because just as with Bloomfield I had lost patience and wanted Dodd’s out, but I would rather he suceeds and we don’t had to go back to square one with a new coach.

Has your comma key stopped working, bossman?

Surely a manager / head coach at a professional football team doesn’t need it pointed out that he needs to get some wins occasionally?

He cannot, just cannot have thought the sole aim was lovely passing.

Yeah,……I use it all the time,…….

I believe he does understand the need to win . GA and MB used to play down a lack of winning during bad runs . They both used to say they were not worried because the performances were good and therefore the results would come .

I think Dodds was trying to say the same . He is just a master at sending out the wrong message is all . His version was he was “very relaxed” and once they learn the “style” all will be well . I think he laboured on the long term goals too much which added to a perception that he didn’t care aboout the short term need to win.

I struggle to maintain one.

Of course he doesn’t. And anyone claiming or even hinting that is what he must think is being obtuse.

He does think that lovely passing and retaining possession is the route to Winning games.

And Tbf, he’s not wrong when you think the opposite to all of those is shit passing and giving the ball away. Which is exactly what we were doing in stupid places and conceeding goals.

I’d always thought you save your “cool” posts for this account and write your bed and butter stuff under some other daily one.

Yes but the point that I was making is that the same thing happened with Bloomfield.

Bit tedious on here between games isn’t it?

2027 according to Beery Nigel!

A misplaced comma is like a misplaced pass. And, in both cases, the fewer the better.

That’s still a long time to have to wait for an erection.

But at least you really spiced it up with this incredible post
