Wigan game on Sky

Just a reminder chaps that our game tomorrow is being shown live on Sky despite being a 3 o’clock kick off.

The match preview on wwfc.com say “watch live from overseas with a £10 match pass”. Why overseas if the 3pm block is lifted?

I assume because sky isn’t legally available in most countries?

It’s listed on the NOWTV app as being broadcast along with a couple of other games. I read somewhere that it’s part of a trial before the 3pm ban is lifted.

Might be wrong though.

Will see what happens tomorrow.

Sad times.

It is available overseas by that means.

Hahaha knew it. Said it on the gasroom as soon as Sky took on the EFL. No interest in the EFL. Taking the EFL coverage was a very cheap way of positioning and posturing themselves to win the bid for the eventual screenings of the Premier League 3pm games. Top level footy is so far removed from the local communities they once served. Vile.

From the Sky Sports TV listings for Saturday:

  • Wigan Athletic 15:00 Wycombe Wanderers

League 1, Sky Sports+ (15:00)

All Saturday 3pm League One and Two kick offs have been on Sky during “international break” for last 15 months. It’s not a new thing.

Ah yes, of course , forgot about the international break.

I have taken a season’s International Annual Pass subscription, to save on the hassle of remembering how to pay the game-by-game fee of £10 and the standing order of £5 for WWFC TV. However, when we get selected for Sky games (normally at odd times of day), these get removed from WWTV.

I’m just double checking if today’s game is viewable because having just checked the link, it is only offering me the chance to buy a ticket, not offering a chance to view it online. Is anyone else able to view it from aboard?

Having same issue. I have just checked NOW TV and it’s showing as available

I think you should be absolutely fine. The button to watch ususally appears nearer to kick off, just make sure your VPN is on and that your profile is logged in on the website. I’ve watched both games in the last two weeks on WTV, despite being on SKY at 12.30 - I’m sure todays will be available too.

Yeah, sometimes it appears quite late. I’m off to check in a few minutes.

Nice rant, but have you missed 3pm sat kick offs in international breaks being on for years?

I assume Sky have the rights to UK broadcast. Therefore the club can only stream overseas.

Many thanks to all for the response, which are much appreciated. Having discovered that it’s on Sky (which I don’t have) a fellow WWFC supporter, who has, has invited me over to watch, so any ‘crisis’ is averted.

Let’s hope the visit is worth it……..

Game is playing ok on Wanderers TV overseas.

Yep I’m watching “overseas” via Wanderers TV without problem at the moment

Incidentally, you don’t have to have a Sky Sports subscription, just a NOWTV account ( which is free) then buy a sky sports day pass (£14.99) whenever you want to watch a game.

If you have a smart TV, download the NOWTV app ,login and watch.
