Wishing Gareth a speedy recovery
Wish Gaz a speedy recovery, having been through similar a few years back I’m sure it won’t be too long before he’s back.
All the best, Gaz
Coincidentally, Gary Waddock taking some time off from Walsall for surgery on his ankle.
Lawrie Sanchez last seen phoning the doctor.
All the best to Gareth and Gary.
I forever remain in awe of the scientists and doctors who discover, study and find treatments for these kinds of conditions. It’s so far beyond the scope of my intelligence.
All the best Gaz and long live the NHS.
All the best Gareth, here’s to a quick and painless recovery!
Wish him the best of luck with the surgery and hope that his recovery is smooth.
Once a legend, always a legend
Sure it is routine, but nonetheless wishing Gaz all the best & hoping Dobbo steps up for them like he did for us
Best wishes Gaz. Dobbo, you got this.
It isn’t routine. It’s major heart surgery and doubt he’ll be back this year, or even this season.
Not what anyone wants and just hope he gets it sorted.
It depends on whats going on. If it’s a stent in one of the blood vessels, then he’ll be in and out of hospital on the same day. If its something else, then he might need longer to recover. Don’t get me wrong, heart surgery is an operation that there will always be risks linked to it.
However, caution will always be taken with those in football & caution will be taken after recent events & the stresses of the business. The procedure will probably be in a speicalist private hospital & he’ll have plenty of tests to verify the op was successful.
Remember, he used to cycle from Finchampstead to the training ground most days when he was here, that’s not just a walk down the road! He might be because he no longer is able to do that which could impact on his heart/body
Gareth himself says he’ll be off for “a few weeks” so hopefully it’s not as serious as you suggest!
He doesn’t want the fans to worry so he’s playing it down like the LEGEND he is.
Firstly and most importantly, all the very best to Gareth.
If it was discovered in May and only being looked at now, I highly doubt it is anything as serious as a blocked vessel. And if that wasn’t the case, I wouldn’t really speculate further. But given the delay it’s much more likely to be a relatively straightforward ablation of some kind (of an additional electrical circuit in the heart or a less serious electrical disturbance such as Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia or Atrial Fibrillation).
In any case though, hope the procedure is successful and Gareth is back on the touchline as soon as possible.
Not trying to get into any political debate about the pros and cons of the NHS. But by the sounds of things this is a private medical procedure funded by the LMA. Great to see that football is looking after its own. And all the very best to Gaz.
I’ve just realised this means he won’t be in the dugout for the Football League Trophy match against us. Last season he resigned from Shrewsbury immediately before they played us. He’s taking increasingly extraordinary lengths to avoid the opposition dugout. Love you Gareth!
I think he’ll still be in the crowd or a box taking it easy but seeing both of his clubs in action
He was in charge when we won at Shrewsbury.
Just goes to show you don’t have to be lazy and smoke a pack a day to have heart issues.
To be fair, he’s been in a highly stressful job for the best part of 20 yrs. In that time, he’s had promotions, relegations, being sacked, looking for new job(s) and having times where he hasn’t known where his next paycheck is coming from. Throw in the long hours and travelling, its all going to take it toll on anyone.
