Sounds a good stat but we have only had one other midweek away playoff game this century.
‘We’re taking more to Charlton than we did to Cheltenham’’ doesn’t sound as good!

Think of all the other away matches we’ve had on midweek nights.
You would expect any playoff following to comfortably eclipse a League match, no?
Definatootly as the much missed Malone might have mothermuttered.
If you’re watching, Malone, please return to the fold.
The point I’m trying to make is that it’s still one of our biggest ever followings since joining the Football League despite ridicule we seem to be getting elsewhere.
I believe it’s likely to be within the top five overall non-cup away followings of last 20 years. This despite it being a silly time with the risk of not getting home. Well done to our fans.
Under 2000 is still poor in my view for a 2nd leg play off game in London.
If we take around 2000, that’s still c.50% of our regulars. It is what it is, safe travels to all.
“in London” but also an hour from Marylebone, it’s not an easy reach for a Thursday night! (Yes, I am going)
It is and great effort from all attending. I’ve just realised I’ve booked wrong dates for my hotel so the playoff bill is rising. DOH!
Ha. Where are you staying?
@Brownie It’s a pain, but not quite Selhurst Park levels of pain at least.
The Savoy as it’s near the tube
The gate the other night wasn’t great and Thursday might not be as big as it could have been but there’s loads of reasons, and it’s never been easier to watch at home, remember that knock on effect when Sky bang on about how many games they are showing next season and moving to inconvenient times.
Supporting a small club from a small town has never been a problem for me.
I’m old enough to remember Charlton fans saying the manager who kept them in the top 6 of the prem had taken them as far as he could and should probably move on, I also remember us knocking them out of a cup while they were still just about there, so for them to be in League one crowing that they are bigger than Wycombe is just funny.
We got a lot of stick for not filling our stadium on Sunday night and one of our fans correctly pointed out that they only half-filled The Valley in 2018 against Shrewsbury - and that wasn’t a Sunday.
They bang on about how loyal their support is, but they only sell 50% of the stadium all season then sell out one individual playoff game. I’ve been to The Valley for every single league game in the last few years and it’s always half empty and pretty silent. Pot kettle.
@frequentstander Well said. Now they’re in the 3rd Division playoffs, suddenly they’re acting like Bertie Big Bollocks and you can’t hire a bus in the Medway area for love nor money.
Is that Dudds cunning plan to shore up his 10 man defence?
Email from the club just now:
“Failure to not collect [sic] from Adams Park will see your ticket taken to the away ground for collection. Please arrive early to collect your tickets. Please expect to queue upon arrival to collect your ticket.”
In other words, Charlton can’t get themselves organised?
Tbf there’s many reasoned Charlton fans (based on their forum, I’m not masochistic enough to trawl ‘X’) who are telling the tinpot labellers to pipe down and remember that we’re competing at the same level.
Is Charlton’s much documented ticket collection shambles their version of ‘sporting advantage’? Keep the Wycombe hicks outside for as long as possible.
