Kick Muck for those that follow the terrace thread…this would get the hearts pumping pre game.
For those of a gaming persuasion, and particularly Call of Duty, they are making a movie (Paramount the studio, under Activision’s guidance).
Peter Berg is the director and the film is being written by Taylor Sheridan. Film releases June 2028.
They have confirmed the Call of Duty ‘universe’ will be Modern Warfare.
So this film will have a big British story with this being about Taskforce 141 (SAS).
Obviously, those who play CoD will know that the MW eras were the best storylines with the best characters, many of whom are complex. There are some great ‘lore’ stories on YouTube about many of the characters.
The cast is a big secret, so who plays Captain Price, Ghost, Soap, Gaz, Farah and of course, Makarov, no one knows. Although there is a lot of gossip Henry Cavill could be playing Captain Price.
For those that don’t play CoD, nothing to see here, but for those of us that do, can’t wait.

Having given up on The Bear, I have found Shōgun to be excellent viewing. If you don’t mind a bit of decapitation, it is really good.

Visited The Globe last weekend for Love’s Labours Lost. Not the most celebrated bit of Bill but at a tenner for a groundling spot, it’s ahead of The Proms for value and that is a high bar. Aside from the usual revelling in wordplay there’s a lot of flamenco, which is great and Norah Lopez Holden is a delight. The costumes were a bit good too

I thought The Odessey was very good…despite the largely British cast talking (or is it speaking @micra ?) in American accents.
Finished Slow Horses yesterday… i need a new fix! Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated

It was quite mixed. I’ve not really listened to much since The Caution Horses album, (so really didn’t know any of the more recent stuff). They played some songs from that and The Trinity Sessions, but were sort of showcasing a “greatest hits from the current century” album, so there was plenty of that. They also did covers - as you might expect - including Powderfinger (and a joke about how as a Canadian band, they were obliged to cover a Neil Young song in any live set), but also a one called Lost My Driving Wheel by David Wiffen, which I’d never heard before but really loved. It really brought the best out of Margot’s voice. A good night, to be sure.
Not seen Slow Horses as I don’t have streaming but on an espionage tip, The Undeclared War is very good. Bit like Spooks with more cyber geeks.

I think you might like The Agency, based on an outstanding French show called The Bureau. Both are top notch.

Haven’t seen it but I wouldn’t mind betting that it was ‘trying to speak’ in American accents.
Bit disturbing how usernames are (usually?) missing in quoted comments.
Just realised (doooh) that it has no effect on what’s being said and I can live with the absence of attribution!
I used to be indecisive but now I’m not so sure. I’m edging towards talking.
