I think the demographic of the Gasroom is your issue here. Plenty willing but you’d probably need Arnold’s on standby.

I’m an extreme example of the Gasroom demographic of course which is probably why I find it hard to adjust to something @eric_plant would describe as the natural evolution of language.
I’m referring to the use of ‘partake’ instead of ‘participate’ which has crept in over recent decades. It’s obvious of course how ‘partake’ as in ‘partaking of food and drink’ - the original meaning - would lead people to think that it meant taking part. And partake is easier to spell than participate.
For an old codger like me, it just feels wrong.

Brought back many a memory of frustrating times trying to get teams together for various tournaments / leagues etc.
And that was when you knew everyone in the flesh! On a forum is even tougher work!
