Fans forum Thursday 20th of November

Noticed on the app the other day that the club are holding the above event where it would appear great and the good will be in attendance. Went on the app to book my place I need to find I couldn’t (not an unusual occurrence considering my limited old git IT skills)
Email the club as I’ve done in the past asking them to kindly book me a place. Got a reply back this morning saying that I had been entered into a ballot I would be told if I was successful two days before the event quite understandably I query this only to be given the same answer. I have subsequently query this again expressing the displeasure and have yet to receive a reply.
It seems bizarre that they would have a ballot for such an event (I understand 300 places are available) no mention of being entered into a ballot on the original advert, as far as I can see.
Maybe we are going to be vetted to see if we are suitable to attend !

Do they have conference facilities capable of accommodating more than 300?. Not sure this has been a problem in past however (do anything like 300 attend) and 48hrs notice seems tight. Good if they could rig up remote access (eg via Teams).

FWIW, they do have a livestream of it and also I’d assume they have some way of getting questions through

They have already said that they will be remote access, presumably via Wanderers TV or whatever. Doesn’t hold the fact that this seems to be a bizarre way of trying to encourage supporters to come to an event and an unnecessary layer of bureaucracy.

Tickets are a ballot so dw, might not be space in Caledonian. Should be reserved for ST holders first.

In the past these things have been fairly sparsely attended in person with about the same via the zoom link they created for it.

As such a ballot seems unnecessary unless there has suddenly been a huge upsurge in interest from the steadfast fan base.

I would be surprised if they didn’t do the same this time; after all Zoom can cope with a couple of hundred connections really easily (especially as the Couhigs got us “The Best WiFi” in any football stadium…)

Always amusing when people forget to mute on calls: ‘Paul! Put the laundry away, dear!’ echoes through the meeting like a domestic opera.

Latest reply from the club is that in the event of it being oversubscribed they want to ensure “a balance of people from the fan base in other words it’s not really a ballot it would be a selection based on unknown criteria. Very odd and IMO once again The club showing their massive capacity for being able to shoot themselves in the foot just when things seem to be going well.

I know it’s fashionable to knock Couhig’s WiFi but compared with other stadiums, it’s a triumph. Never had any problem connecting, checking scores etc. Been at a couple of events there and it just works.

Previous Zoom issues have generally been down to the Trust using the free version, which caps the number of attendees.

The club held a similar event at the same time last year when things were bubbling along nicely and Mr Broomfield was at his peak
I was there in person and it was very well attended. I would say there was at least 200 in the room. Certainly there was no we will have a ballot nonsense.

I may well be well off the mark here but it seems to me this is an opportunity to filter out those likely to ask difficult questions.

If that’s not the intention, it certainly creates that impression.

There was a tweet the other day, think it was from either a Fulham or Huddersfield fan, literally raving about their WiFi experience in the away end!!
