Former WWFC Footballers

Lyle Taylor is also there and hoping for a new contract. From sublime to ridiculous.

He lived in Marlow for a long time when he played for us. Just behind the Two Brewers

Good luck to him.

All Goalkeepers are mad, apparently. A special breed all of there own.

re. Lyle Taylor, in fairness he did bag 10 goals for our Essex “friends” last season, which is reasonable? He was terrible for us, but he was coming back from a long period out of the game, plus also at the time we were expecting him to cover for the injured Vokes and be a target man…which he clearly wasn’t, but that’s on us for signing him, rather than him.

I’m quite worried that ColU are going to have a decent season.

Yes, a ColU supporting colleague (like me, an interloper who was not around to share early emnity) says he was decent but has rather an overinflated view of himself. He expects them to offer a contract, though.
I was disappointed with LT because he looked a good signing, seemed eloquent in the jnterviews, but he seemed off the boil, but it was everyone else’s fault. Strange one.

Very random, but good for him!

Nathan Bishop ended up at Wimbledon. A strange one for us as we chased him for years, then he got injured before he could really show what he was about, and lost his place.

It looked to me like Bishop did a pretty decent job for Cambridge last season.

Former loanee Harry Boyes signed by Southend. I quite liked him. Strange he’s had to drop to National League.

Five games for Fleetwood and one for Sheffield United since leaving us. I wonder if he’s been injured.

I know it wasn’t all his (Boyes) fault but that opening day defeat to Exeter remains nightmare inducing. A certain A. Hartridge received a good write-up though.

Lively game in the Champions League, Tjay De Barr converting a penalty as Lincoln Red Imps lead Vikingur 3-2 as they head towards HT.

Their defender Bernardo Lopes, who I’ve long maintained is far too good for the Gib leagues but may be too old to get a good pro move at 31, has scored twice.

Is that the same Sam Lavelle that we almost signed?!
