Curtis Thompson has signed for Spalding United in the Southern League Premier.
Insane that such an integral player to those years is at that level at 31.
Absolutely loved Curtis gave his all every time he crossed the white line but his game makes him injury prone and yes when fit he is tenacious but it seems to take him longer and longer each time to get back up to speed when recovering from those injuries. No intel on this but putting his body on the line must mean it’s beginning to take its toll. Wishing him all the best though.
If I could make a Gif of my mind’s eye view of Curtis’ goal vs Poxford…well, I’d have a lovely Gif. Arrowed. Crazy to think that was only a few years ago and now he’s at Spalding?!
Also, McClure got a goal in a recent friendly for Chesham. I reckon he’ll get a few this season.
Bez and Jasper on the bench for Stevenage, Low starts for Huddersfield. Woodhouse doesn’t make the Exeter 18.
Joe low scores on his Huddersfield debut.
Kadeem Harris scored an OG on his Salford debut LOL!!.
Dom Gape wasn’t in the ColU squad.
Neither was Vokes for Gillingham. In fact, he’s not even named on their squad’s website page…..
Bakinson played 67 minutes for Orient on their defeat at Huddersfield.
I thought Reach was decent for us, you’d imagine he could get another club at this level, especially as a free agent.
You say decent as if its good? I thought he was invisible didn’t offer much and slowed the team down due to his lack of pace.
Other than spectacular goals every few games in his career. I think he’ll struggle for LG1 at his latter age. LG2 - yes/Non league more likely.
He reminded me off when Martin O’Neill brought Steve Walford in at fullback 35 years ago, you could see his technique and the time he had on the ball, but his pace had totally deserted him.
Sad to hear of the death of Kirk Corbin.
86/87 season was my first full one as a Wycombe supporter and the first where away games on the coach (and later on, a car) became a reality. Kirk was a key member of that amazing side that propelled us back to the Conference with a total of 101 points, never to look back.
Same name as the host of Grand Designs
Although I can’t imagine that one punching a man in a sports bar
Always thought Kirk was a quality player, whenever we came up against Wokingham Town, so was delighted when he signed for us.
He fitted in seamlessly, and added quality to that special team in 86-87.
Always remembered fondly RIP Kirk.
