Former WWFC Footballers

Ah, Noel Ashford. What a player he was, as was the guy who signed for us at the same time, Keith Barrett.

My memory for that Bromley game was that we won 3-0 (although quite likely I‘m wrong on the detail). I think Bromley had been promoted that year(?) but my main memory is walking away from the ground hearing the locals talk in awe about how brilliant we were.

Very few things as a football supporter match that feeling.

Alex Samual signs for Partick Thistle. One year with the option to extend.

19 more bookings and Luke will become the most booked player in Sunderland’s history.

Knowing him there’s an outside chance he does it this season!

Speaking of Wycombe players and penalties, Tjay converted as Lincoln Red Imps beat Noah Yerevan in a shootout to reach the Europa League playoff for the first time in their history. If they lose to Braga they’ll play in the Conference League league phase for the first time since 2021-22, which Tjay missed as he was signed by Wycombe. Most people there are hoping they’ll get a game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. I think I’d have to try to get to that game if it happens.

Jordan Obita must be having fun, going on European adventures and now playing international football for Uganda.

Can’t be many players who have played twice for a country but never set foot on its land.

*when they lose to Braga

Yeah but stranger things have happened. A team from San Marino has reached the Conference League playoff ffs

Doncaster’s Brandon Hanlan talking about Wycombe ahead of tomorrow’s game (3.25 onwards)

Very respectful to us which is nice to hear clearly grateful for the support through his injury

Nice backdrop of a plug socket as well.

32 years since John Williams professional debut. I can still see him enjoying the freedom of Layer Road before scoring our second in that cup tie.

The ultimate argument for scrapping VAR. Imagine a life where that pleasure was denied us

I wonder if Kone will play today. Watford away so an easier club in that division to make a debut

You’d hope so, he’s had half a week’s training with them so it not like he’s gone in at the deep end

I was going to stick a tenner on him as first goalscorer but they will only give me 7/1. Thought it would be a bit higher, so put a silly fiver on him getting a hat trick at 100/1

Last minute twist in Eze future saga with a long term injury to Havertz meaning he is now more likely to go to Arsenal than Tottenham. Good, will be great to see him having opportunity to play in a top top team with chance of winning leagues and cups maybe even Champions League. If he is good enough, clear path to starting for England at next World Cup too. Good luck Ebe.
