Saxon Earley released by Plymouth Argyle

Alex Samuel scored for Ross County today in their 2-1 defeat to St Johnstone.

A terrible result for County as they lose to the only team below them in the SPL.

Nice to see Wheels and McCarthy in attendance on Saturday.

What were they doing there the day before a big game?

Oops. That must have autocorrectified or something technical. Not my stupidity. Oh, no.

Learnt that from Gaz, who did it to register with players in anticipation of any potential approaches to sign them.

I feel that’s a big part of it but I also think he’s just a lovely bloke who regards people as people and not just as footballers.

While he is the Master of some of the dark-arts (the piggyback tackle comes to mind) as soon as the whistle goes at the end of the game, I think he’s one of the most respectful characters in football. I think this comes from previous experiences in football. Cast out from Watford’s youth set up and looking at life in non-league, he gives the impression to live life as full as possible while at the top of his game while he can.
I’m surprised that he’s either not been asked or represented Singapore’s national team? Do you think he’s too far away from Singapore to get noticed or has he just turned down the call?

for a brief moment there I thought you were refering to Gaz. I was!

I think your post is true of both of them. Gaz is less likely to represent Singapore though.

Can confirm the Wealdstone fans were all saying he was a great bloke before he even came to us.
A friend who lived in Singapore said that culturally the idea of having Jack Charlton style imports into the national team wasn’t very likely, and also there wasn’t a great focus on or much money in the game so it probably wouldn’t happen. If the Mackems do go up and his charm and determination are picked up by TV he might not be a million miles from an England call up.

Used to work with a bloke from Watford and Luke used to go round schools and chat to kids and do keepy uppies with a golf ball and stuff (he is amazing at keepy uppies)

Anyway, all the kids absolutely adored him apparently. He had time for all of them. And it was purely voluntarily, not anything the club was making him do (Watford being his club at the time). To be that young and that focused on giving something to his community is quite a special character trait I think.

Almost sounds like he’ll make an excellent manager when that time comes!
